Draft EHCP

My son has just been issued with his draft EHCP and a supporting adult is mentioned throughout but there is no mention of how many hours a day this supporting adult will be with him? Is the level of support meant to be clearly categorised? Is this typical of an EHCP? Any advice would be so appreciated! Thanks!

It's very typical for an EHCP, this is a legal document and the provision in it is binding, therefore it's in the LA's interest to make it as unspecific as possible, as the provision included is then ambiguous and it's easier and cheaper to meet the plan.
You should be given 15 calendar days from the date of the draft issue to suggest amendments. I would go back requesting amendments to any of the areas that are not specific. I would also look at anything where the language is 'would/should benefit from' rather than 'will have', as well as the frequency and time of each provision. I would try and link specifics as much as possible back to your Educational Psychologist report as that will make it more difficult for the LA to disregard.
EHCP is very challenging process as a parent, sending you love and strength.

Section F must be detailed, specified and quantified. If it is woolly and vague as per your OP it isn’t worth the paper it is written on. Are the reports woolly and vague? If the LA finalise without amending you should appeal.
