Council help bidding

I am in Band B and have bid on a property and I’m currently in position 3 in the list. It says priority will be given to those in a Band A. I was wondering if any one has any experience with this please. Does it also go on the local connection? I’m wondering how long it may take now to be offered a property. Thank you

I was band B and second position when I got my property. It is a third floor flat though so not suitable for everyone and the person ahead of me turned it down.

The other people will be offered it first and if they say no it will be offered to you. My advice would be to bid on absolutely everything, less desirable properties like flats are more likely to be rejected. And accept whatever you are offered.

Hello,I have bidded on 3 properties, all 3 of the properties is shortlisting and is rank over 20,does anyone know what that means?I am currently living in a hotel,I am tired and frustrated as its expensive to buy takeaway everyday and there is no cooking and washing facilities.

Most people are likely to have a local connection anyway as they normally have ri have one ti be in the list . Unless there's a reason such as DV

It's impossible to say how long. It depends on your situation and how your council banding system works . And your council allocation system.

Over 20 means your unlikely to be offered sadly. I would appeal your accommodation.

Depending what band your in and area you could be waiting years to be housed . I think they can only keep you on a hotel for so long though. I'm gonna have a quick look.

@AnneGolden it seens to say they can keep you in a hotel for 6 weeks. If it's been over that I would appeal it and put reasons down as strongly as you can .

Do you have children or are you pregnant? I think it should be no more than 6 weeks if you have this priority. It also depends on the area and how much stock is available

I'm band b and have been waiting unsuccessfully for years.
It might be different in your area though.
