To wonder why there's no BBC Panorama documentary into racism in the Tory party?

Strange, isn't it? Must be because of the BBC's well known left wing bias.

Deporting British people is. Learn your history.

Also if anyone is warped, its you coming up with that pathetic analogy. Why in this scenario are people breaking into your house? That's literally not what has been happening with neither the windrush generation nor refugees. Your ramblings don't even make sense. Just sound like you wanted to make a point and failed.

If you're going to convince people of your argument, you're better off coming up with something more robust that stands up to scrutiny. So far you've failed to use any facts or anything grounded in reality whatsoever. You won't convince people the tories aren't racist or far right when they unquestionably are.

Your ignorance is hanging out, you might want to think about tucking it back in.

Volbeat · 15/03/2024 07:05

That was to @CoatRack.

I couldn't care less what governments say; I care about what they do.

Evidently this one has not done anything far right because nobody can name anything, nor can they define it.

And what did they DO in terms of Rwanda?

PP pointed this policy out, it's the tories policy. And you come out with things like "I don't care what they say, I care what they do". The only reason they haven't sent anyone to Rwanda is because they are fucking incompetent and the policy is being scrutinised (good!!). How can you not see its wrong.

God forbid if we ever had battle on British soil again and you fled the country, would you appreciate this happening to you by say, a French government or whatever country you fled to?

Volbeat · 15/03/2024 07:18

Look how much it costs us to enact this plan. Ridiculous.

£240m already paid. Migrants sent there so far - nil.

Great plan guys. More MPs have been sent to Rwanda than migrants 😅🤣🤣

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 07:20

Whatever countries do about trafficking it’s going to cost more

Whether it’s using Albania as Italy will, or whatever US do. Numbers going up will cost. Implementing plans either way with higher numbers will cost.

AHH yes the racist party with the most diverse front bench in history.

Yeah but the point I'm making is out government has bugger all to show for the money they've spent so far. Because the supreme Court ruled it as unlawful

People of any colour can be racist.

It’s still going through the process isn’t it?

Saponatheim · 15/03/2024 07:29

@EasternStandard what’s your solution ?
Diverse front bench - how many aren’t millionaires ? And obviously no millionaire is racist eh ?

cardibach · 15/03/2024 07:33

CoatRack · 14/03/2024 23:00

What treatment? How many have been shot?
The illegal migrants don't deserve anything, on account of them entering the country illegally.

Oof. You've got me with the windrush, it was pretty far right of them to apologise and offer compensation etc...

Travelling by any means possible to claim asylum isn’t illegal, no matter what the government say. Another example of a rightward drift for you. Asylum seekers are never illegal as long as they claim asylum at the first practical opportunity. If they hadn’t, we wouldn’t know about them. I can’t believe there are still people who have managed to ignore this basic bit of international law - it’s been discussed ad infinitum here and elsewhere.

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 07:36

My solution to what? I’m posting about about increase in trafficking

When it comes to trafficking, it will go up and what is happening in the EU with the political shift is due to that.

The country I know about who have had success is in pp, Aus.

It brought in policy decades ago but Labor have retained it because they’d be mad to reverse.

Whatever a country does, whether it’s control like Aus or allow it it will cost. Aus already spend so maybe theirs won’t go up much, but other countries who are facing it and trying to work out how to deal with it will have increased costs whatever they do.

cardibach · 15/03/2024 07:41

@EasternStandard maybe the way to deal with trafficking is to go after the traffickers, not the people of whom they are taking advantage?

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 07:44

I think you’d get nowhere. The supply of traffickers is almost endless as it is such a low barrier to entry and people selling in for huge profits

It’s a massive market because it takes advantage of the current system

There are loads of things set up in France btw drones, surveillance, police, fencing but traffickers can still get around it

Notonthestairs · 15/03/2024 07:55

Rwanda is not off shoring processing as per the Australian system. There is no right to return.

Australian numbers actually continued to increase when off shoring was introduced. Numbers dropped off after turn backs where introduced. Not an option in the Channel for a variety of reasons.

Now we are paying refugees to go to Rwanda which is similar to the system introduced and subsequently ditched by Israel (again paying people to go to Rwanda and Uganda). I believe they found that migrants used the money given to them to spend on new traffickers to return.

Depressing that a thread about racism in politics descends into bashing a black female politician.

Depressing, but unsurprising

Vegetus · 15/03/2024 07:23

AHH yes the racist party with the most diverse front bench in history.

A front bench that has served to legitimise the creation of ever more divisive, racist and right wing policy, so much so that a former Conservative Party Chair has called them out and other minority members are leaving.

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 08:01

This is Aus in 2014. It was hardline a decade ago and no change even though the gov has switched. They don’t muck around with messaging

’“The message is simple, if you come to Australia illegally by boat, there is no way you will ever make Australia home,” he says.”

“If you travel by boat without a visa you will not make Australia home,” Campbell says. “The rules apply to everyone: families, children, unaccompanied children, educated and skilled. There are no exceptions. Do not believe the lies of people smugglers. These people will steal your money and place your life and the life your family at risk for nothing.”

Saponatheim · 15/03/2024 08:06

Are you a migrant @EasternStandard ?

Volbeat · 15/03/2024 08:14

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 07:26

It’s still going through the process isn’t it?

It is and I truly hope it fucks up for the tories. Maybe we should send them to Rwanda with a no return policy. I'd settle for that.

What that Tory donor said about Diane Abbott was racist. Unambiguously. However, the constant claims that the Tories are institutionally racist, or “Islamophobic”, is a trick designed to take attention away from the anti-Semitic hatred of the left.

Could, please, provide facts to back up your opinion? Otherwise, it sounds like a conspiracy theory.

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 08:18

Saponatheim · 15/03/2024 08:06

Are you a migrant @EasternStandard ?

What’s that got to do with Aus policy?

I’m very lucky to have two sets of passports / citizenship and given the general trend around all this the dc now do too.

Aus did sort this ages ago and watching other countries struggle I’m glad to have it as an option, although generally v happy here.

Thisilldo · 15/03/2024 08:21

Being openly racist is winning the party votes I’m afraid. Years of uncontrolled immigration is causing the uk to descend back 100 years.

when society starts to fall apart people start to look for someone to blame. This is only the beginning of a very ling slippery slope
