Postpartum nightmares

Not an Aibu sorry just posted as seems to get more interest, as I'm terrified, has anyone else experienced really really bad nightmares after having a baby I am currently 10 weeks pp and I have had a nightmare almost every single night, hardly any of them involve my baby, but last night I had the most terrifying dream I have EVER had, I woke up in a full sweat absolutely terrified I had to wake my dp up to console me as I literally couldn't move with fear sounds so dramatic but it's ruined my whole day, I have been to scared to look out of my window at night (something to do with the dream) and I was so anxious going out this evening to the shops, I feel absolutely terrified, I do the night feeds and I'm too scared to sleep.

I am a grown woman and have had plenty of bad dreams but this literally felt like it really happened and I know I sound stupid but it's really effected me today, has anyone else experienced this and do you have any advice? Xx

At ten weeks postpartum your hormones are all over the shop. I had intrusive thoughts and dreams at this stage. It’s a really common thing and nothing to do with your fitness to parent your baby, but you may need professional help - speaking to your GP tomorrow may well open up some help. Perinatal mental health services can see you until a year after the birth for this reason.
