Why is it all over the news about the Princess of Wales’ photograph being “manipulated “ (I assume that means it was photoshopped)

Am I missing something or have the media just lost the plot? It’s a photo? Who cares if she made some changes to it? I’m not sure how that makes our lives any different. Quite frankly, I find it absurd that this is even being given airtime when there’s much more important issues to be concerned about e.g. Gaza/Israel, Ukraine and cost of living!

So reputable news agencies issued a Kill Notice, which they wouldn't do for a bit of retouching, they gave Kensington Palace a day to come up with the original or an explanation first, which they didn't do.

Your interesting use of capital letters certainly doesn't make your point more convincing that's for sure.

So lots of people think she's seriously ill. The photo was meant to put pay to those rumours and has failed to do so. So that may suggest she really is more ill than is being announced and that is being concealed.

I'm still in the "so what?" camp. Maybe she is at death's door, maybe she's just enjoying the time off. I remain not bothered by either option.

Poor Kate! She is recovering from her operation. She doesn’t need this.
I feel like she is being bullied (she was bullied in boarding school).
So what? It’s a personal family photo that she didn’t have to share but chose to.
She photoshopped it like so many of us do to make the picture a little more better. It’s not like princess charlotte was holding diamonds or sn important m15 document or whatever. . It’s just a bit of her cardigan that was cut out for example.
The whole thing has got out of control and it is bullying. Enough is enough!!

Don’t be silly. That is not what she did.
She is recovering from a serious operation and does not need this bullying. Have empathy. She may be the future Queen but she is also a human being under alot of unfair pressure. Now is not the time.

If she doesnt want to be photographed right now for whatever reason then I don't see why she didn't stay at home. Yes there would still be speculation but being seen out in the car the first time not looking like herself really ramped it all up.

And if a minor op did turn into something more serious like some are speculating then I don't see why they couldn't have just issued a statement once she was back home recovering , they didn't have to go into what the medical issues are

I don't get it either, however, some people seem obsessed by it. Perhaps in future, when something terrible happens like a extinction event comet is about to hit the earth, they can print photos about some royal faux pas and we will be completely distracted.

I don't care about the royals, but the thing is - due to all the conspiracy theories, this was supposed to be a "proof of life" photo. The editing isn't a wee tweak here and there - it's been taken from 5 different pics, including Kate's pic being from a 10Yr old magazine cover. Then there being a 'new' pic of her and William in a car released, which was actually from before xmas with the background altered. It's all about trust, and right now nothing looks particularly trustworthy.
