Only massive in the way anyone having a serious illness is massive news. Plus they've tried to hide it, where King Charles was open about his cancer so everyone's oh no that's sad, then back to their own lives.

It’s not massive news but I am mildly interested by it. Not enough to consider wild conspiracy theories, I don’t care enough for that, but I do think the Palace/Wales’ are panicking about something. Why release a picture at all? Or release an older one, they would have had photographs at Christmas that they could have posted if the need was there.

I also think it’s interesting to consider what the uproar would have been should this have come from the Sussex camp. Oh the accusations that would have been thrown at them. I don’t think anyone has mentioned attention seeking…🫣🤔🙄

This. The Diana engagement ring is there in every public engagement and every single official family portrait. She is never photographed without either her engagement or wedding ring. She may of course have removed it due to post operative swelling, but KP must surely have known that its absence would fuel speculation?!

If you were Carole would you advise your daughter to leave the Duke of Cornwall, who had no income of his own, or wait until granny dies and he becomes Prince of Wales and an automatic billionaire after he inherits the wealth associated with this title (and you will be known forever after as The Princess of Wales). I think it's perfectly feasible that Kate's been playing around with photoshop during her recovery. It's less likely that the photo was released without any input from their press office.

Exactly this. There's probably a reason she can't wear her ring currently, but she usually does and any half decent PR would know the reaction to this aspect (and all the others) of the photo. The main story here seems to be they they are shockingly badly advised, for people with so many staff.
