Good lord, if I see one more miserable Mother's Day post, I may end it all.

It's one day, make it what you want it to be (which includes not picking fault at every minor detail) or stop moaning.

What is the POINT of getting all miserable about it? If your family generally love you, even if they take you for granted somewhat (and what families DON'T take Mum for granted) then... it's just a Hallmark card day and it's not a big deal.

If they treat you like crap every day, then one nice meal out doesn't make up for it!

Exactly, it's another day born out of the simple desire to extort more money out of us, and not only that, it's gone as far as to make people who are generally happy plodding along, really miserable because other people are apparently being so much more appreciated than them (all based on social media posts of strangers paid to post content)
