This is not too much £ for a leisure club membership

For a Hilton hotel membership I think it is quite reasonable but wanted to get other opinions.

£79 per month (intend to use at least 3x a week).
Arena space, gym, indoor swimming, sauna and steam room included and 2 hours free parking.

My reasoning is that I feel like the facilities will be clean and decent at least.

I have seen cheaper options £40 a month for example but with poorer reviews.

What does everyone else pay for their leisure club membership?

I pay £110 for platinum DL membership with a corporate discount. I love it so much and if I was on the bones of my arse I would do everything possible to keep it

I feel the same about my DL club, I absolutely love it and would do anything to keep up my membership!

wow dewdilly that is supercheap. i too have a concessionary membership but mines 30 a month.

The one in the town next to us is closing (pool and gym/classes) as the council say they cant afford to run it.

£20 a month for JD but another £140 a month for 4 x PT sessions.

It's great, the gym is huge and is always busy which I love.

I think my DL has just gone up to £180 something but our club has had a major refurbishment in the last year. That also includes tennis which I use 2 or 3 times a week. I know I could get council membership a lot cheaper but it’s also more crowded and doesn’t have nice facilities that I want to relax in. The pool is cold and the changing rooms a bit manky. Im
ok paying what I’m paying because im
there 4 / 5 times a week and I can afford it. That’s what it comes down to - will it add value to your life and can you afford it.

The other huge plus point about my DL, is the other members. They are a very friendly, welcoming bunch, people always chat and it’s a lovely atmosphere. The club room is a fair size and it’s one of the few places I feel comfortable having a drink/lunch on my own, you regularly see ladies having a quiet hour with a coffee/book. You can’t put a price on that.

I pay £85 per month for a leisure complex / gym at a nice hotel. It's got a pool, classes, a big modern gym space and is never too overcrowded. There's also a spa and members get discounts on treatments, and get unlimited access to their sister gym and all classes there too. The one I'm a member of is near my work and the sister gym near my home so that's handy.

Prices depend on where you live though. pP said their Village hotel was cheaper, but ours is £79 a month and is the most expensive gym around here.
It depends on if that is expensive for your area or not. You need to compare to other local gyms.

ChristmasCwtch · 10/03/2024 09:02

I think that sounds like a good price OP.

We thought we wanted to join our local DL, did a tour. It wasn’t a nice facility. Needs to be closed and fully refurbished. It would have looked a bit shabby as a council leisure centre.

They wanted £139 a month and that wasn’t including the free towel each visit.

I’d jump at the deal you’ve got.

I go to our local council gym, I have 4 within 6 miles of my house. The normal membership is £32pm for access to 7 leisure centres with different classes (glow is excellent, 90s club style with glowsticks), pools, some have sauna and steam. The facilities are decent, most of the centres have been upgraded recently.
I pay £21 for a student membership. I go 5-6 times a week so I get my moneys worth.

I've looked at swanky gyms and I'd have to travel too far for me to use it regularly.

Have you visited the facilities ?
