What is the point of breasts?

I have absolutely massive breasts. They are huge. And I'm only five foot 3.

They are so heavy. They are so hard to dress. I considered a breast reduction at one point but I decided I couldn't put myself through the surgery.

They are so heavy and huge.

And they just seem utterly pointless..their main reason to exist is to feed babies. I have never had children and never will have any. I don't want them.

I just think what's the point of them. I'm sure I read somewhere that most mammals only develop breasts after they have children.
That humans are very unusual to develop breasts and keep them for life.

I've always had big boobs and wide hips and cursed them many times but told myself someday I'll have an easy birth and feed my babies. But no, birth was awful DS stuck in the birth canal and I had very low supply. Feeding was a stressful nightmare. By comparison by slim boyish shaped friend who always lamented having almost flat breasts popped out a baby and had so much milk she could pump extra bottles for the freezer. Her husband, a dairy farmer told her he expected this as smaller teats always were better milkers!! It often made me wonder though, what is the evolutionary purpose of me???

SuperMaria · 08/03/2024 19:14

My low body weight, small boobs and narrow hips are apparently at optimum reproductive capacity, meanwhile other women have all the right parts according to these theorists and struggle.

I find these evolutionary theories a bit silly, even cavemen would have known better😩

All it is, is males mated with women of varying sizes and now a range of shapes exist. For some reason cultures elevate certain bodies, but it's not even consistent across the globe. So these theories are nonsense.

Can I ask. Are natural breasts heavier than fake. I wear a 32ff and they aren't heavy at all.

Are yours natural or fake?

Mine are bigger than yours and heavy.

mrswhiplington · 08/03/2024 19:54

I have always hated my breasts. They're very small, I couldn't breast feed properly and then I ended up with breast cancer and a mastectomy.😔 I might as well have not had any.

According to my GP, where your body stores fat is genetic. See this clearly in my family. On my mother’s side: wide frame, small breasts. On my Dad’s: my grandmother aunt and cousin all very slender frame, extremely slim, but with generous breasts.

She also advised that if I lost weight, my breasts ‘might’ get ‘a bit’ smaller. It doesn’t come off equally all over your body.

A PP asked if you couldn’t just suck the fat out. I did investigate this once as I’m large and not a candidate for surgery. Answer, you can have liposuction on your breasts but you can’t lose very much as the breast is not just a bag of fat. The breast surgeon I saw wasn’t in favour of lipo on the breast, I don’t remember why.

I'm for sure not an expert, but you would imagine that fake breasts would be lighter than natural breasts.

As silicone looks lighter and less density than fat.

@mrswhiplington

That sounds shitty.

Our body doesn't always work the way it should.

But! It's ok. I'm sorry your tits didn't work.

You had messy tits. I'm sorry you had messy tits.

That's a strangely worded reply - does it come from a good place?

Yep.

It does.

I do, and have always, spoken in very truncated English.

I'm quite sparse with my words.

Size often depends on your BMI, they’re fat storers.

That’s true but when I was super slim I was a 30E and now I’m bigger I’m a 32F so my boob size hasn’t increased anywhere near as much as my backside for example.

Tetsuo · 10/03/2024 09:38

I'm not sure BMI correlates closely with breast size.

I'm from a family of small-breasted women. My husband is from a family of large-breasted women.

Our daughter takes after me in many ways, but she's got the height of the women in DH's family (small, she's 5'3", I'm 5'9"). She's lean as I am, and proportionately long-limbed, I'm a size 10, she's a 4/6.

BUT, our breasts are about the same size, which are large breasts on her, very small breasts on me. There's no fat there on either of us.

We both have a BMI of about 20.

Kjones27 · 10/03/2024 10:08

Yeah weight really has nothing to do with it

when I was a size 8 I had large breasts

I was just looking at the singer sabrina carpenter. She looks about a size 10. She has absolutely no breasts at all

Sometimes I nearly can't imagine what it must be like to be like her, to have no weight on my chest. The plus side is it would be easier to run!

I had large sagging breasts which got worse around menopause- I had a reduction and don’t regret it. I wanted to leave it until menopause because I had read about younger women having 2 or 3 reductions as they grew back.

I've just looked up Sabrina Carpenter, she's got boobs, she has cleavage!

There was absolutely no way my breasts could make cleavage until after I had children.

I had bee-stung nipples and that was that!

Post-partum I have breasts but still can't do cleavage unless I really push them together.

I've never owned a bra!

That's a padded bra she's wearing.

I've seen pictures of her without padded bras
She has absolutely nothing there.

She said herself that she has ",no tits".

Anyway it's not a bad thing. I was just wondering how it must feel to not carry a lot of weight around

I guess you don't know what you've never had!

It feels like nothing to carry weight around because I never have. It just feels like my body.

Although I absolutely hated having no breasts when I was younger, as I've got older I can see the benefits.
