That article is subscription only, what’s the gist?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 27/04/2024 10:12

@AfterTheWatershed I haven't read it (yet) but I'll ask the question I always ask - are these concerns related to people using it for weight loss or do they also extend to the diabetics that use it?

Because I see a lot of negative press but it's only ever aimed at the weight loss users - but presumably the drug doesn't make a moral judgment and switch off the bad side effects for diabetic people?

Well that's something I suppose! I did see an article by Johan Hari (?) about neurological effects, I wonder if it's the same one.

Everythinggreen · 27/04/2024 10:35

I thought it was only approved in the UK for Type 2 diabetes?

I lost 4 stone in 10 months by cutting out crap and increasing exercise. I'd much rather do it the healthy way

@AfterTheWatershed ah so I have read it then. I thought it was very interesting. Although I think he concluded that on the balance of facts and risk factors he was going to stay on it (or have I misremembered that...)

TheWayOfTheWorld · 27/04/2024 10:43

Sorry that should be @DreamyMintFish (am on app, can't edit)

So did I 🤷‍♀️ - it's not a magic potion that melts all the fat off you. It's a tool to help you address the underlying eating issues and give you space to get to a better, healthier place.

I've gone from being out of breath walking up a hill to running a half marathon. What a lazy cheat I am Grin
