I know there's going to be a wide variety of different jobs but what do you do?

OP posts:
LoveSandbanks · 05/03/2024 16:42

Cyber security. Predominantly wfh but go into the office if there’s an issue. Office is 1/2 mile down the road so I tend to go in a bit more often but definitely not once a week.

debbs77 · 05/03/2024 16:43

I'd love a remote, term time, 2 days a week work from home job! Can't find one and tired of hustling in self employment!

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 05/03/2024 16:46

I work for Network Rail in a technical role, I wfh two days a week, office or site work three days.
I've just applied to condense my hours so I'll be two days in the office, two wfh and three days off.

Accountant. Our whole business is mainly wfh though, we only go to the office once or twice a week. This is anything from finance, HR, marketing, operational staff and even call centre staff.

Prior to Covid I was allowed to work from home very, very occasionally like maybe once or twice a year!m and only if I had a gd reason.

BlueMonday1977 · 05/03/2024 18:45

Executive Assistant.
was office full time until Covid, then flex working policy came in and was three days a week. Just had my flexible working request agreed to increase this to two days a week in the office which I’m happy with.
my sister is also an EA and is fully remote but works for a bigger company.

Dh is a writer/artist/photographer. He is part of a team that makes a book once a year and he also writes/takes photos for a magazine. He works part time around the needs of our disabled child.

Dominicains · 05/03/2024 19:47

I am an education adviser for a disability charity: go to the office about once a month. Used to be a SENCO, before that an SEN teacher, so this WFH malarkey was a huge, huge shock to the system. I’ve settled on the dining room after trying out the spare room and the playroom. Some days are mega boring admin or writing, other days are out and about meeting service users, schools and FE/HE settings. So it balances out - plus we have been able to get a dog, which DS has been asking for since his childminder got one 10 years ago…
