I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this but I’m not sure where else this would fit in.
I made a huge mistake when naming my daughter and her first name clashes with her surname - sounding / spelling something rude when together. I didn’t notice and no one pointed it out to me until she was too old to change the name. But it’s now all I can see / hear when i have to use her full name.
When asking family / friends advice on this they have all said it’s not too bad and to not worry about it. But it’s all I can think about and I feel so so guilty and stupid for not realising the clash earlier. There are also no shortening options for her first name! So I feel so so stuck and awful and just don’t know what to do. Although she’s still little now I feel when she gets to be a teenager it will be awful. But as I say she is too old to now just change her name.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be helpful really. I am loosing so much sleep over this
thanks

Does she have a middle name you could use?
How old is she?
I suppose unless you tell us the name we can't really say how bad it sounds.

Firstly You can change the name surely at any age? Until they are adult then they do it if they like?
There must be a shortened version, some of the letters the name, a cute nickname not even related to her name. Even just calling her by first initial.
But if you hate it change it. Or if your surname isn't in there already add that as middle name?
Don't panic though. She's lovely whatever her name.
