About posts that ask "has anyone ever.....?"

Not a TAAT, but many threads.

Has anyone been to Euro Disney?
Has anyone eaten cheese?
Has anyone watched EastEnders?
Has anyone been to Spain?

Of course someone has, most likely someone here on mn has....

Why don't people write "can anyone who's ...been to Euro Disney, eaten cheese, watched EastEnders, been to Spain help with this question....?"

Of all the irritations wearing away at my chakras today this one is fairly low down on the list. I suppose people who post like that just aren't putting their all into it - who knows.

I've wondered that too, also posts that ask am I the only one? Is there anything In the world that anyone is the only one?

Riverlee · 03/03/2024 21:58

I always feel like replying ‘yes!’ And leave it at that.

However, you always get someone that argues that no-one has ever eaten cheese in Spain whilst watching Eastenders even though lots of people have said they have.

Funnily enough this grates on me too.

Im a very literal person though.

I know people mean “If anyone reading this has X, then could they tell me Y?”, but when they say “has anyone ever X?” I also feel like they’re asking if anyone in the world has done it ever.

And if it’s “has anyone ever been to Scotland” or something, I can’t help finding the question annoying!

SoftFluffySocks · 03/03/2024 22:12

Its a simpler question so more likely to get more people click on it
