Pretty certain that 99% of households order the same thing each time, and I’d like inspiration to branch out and become the 1%!

In my household:

Special chow mein
Chicken with ginger and spring onions
Crispy shredded beef
Egg fried rice
Seaweed
Veg spring rolls
Tub of satay sauce!

Recently tried the salt and chili chicken wings. Delectable!

Don't see any Irish folks on yet to say 'spice bag' (crispy chicken, chips, onions and Peppers with salt and chili spice). Always features on an order from the Chinese.

Spice bag
Singapore noodles
Chicken satay with plain rice
Sweet and sour Chicken balls with plain rice
And the last dish varies each time.

Realising I sound like a wanker but I like some mix of fish fragrant aubergine, sichuan beef in hot chilli oil, stir fried egg and tomato, stir fried potato, smashed cucumber and garlic, ginger green beans and fried rice.

I also like duck and pancakes.

I love Chinese but my local one is hit and miss.

It has to be seaweed, like tons of it. So not one of your 5 a day, haha.
Duck pancakes (never enough pancakes?)
Singapore noodles
sweet and sour w/ prawn balls (spot the prawn?)
Salt and pepper tofu
Egg fried rice

BlackeyedSusan · 29/02/2024 08:14

Hot and sour soup
Deep fried won tun
Sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style
King prawn kung po
Water chestnuts and bamboo shoots

BobbyBiscuits · 29/02/2024 08:16

@Klone OMG I want spice bag! I think in UK we call it salt and pepper chips, but I love Irish potatoes so yours is probably better. I've never actually seen it in my area under any name. Gutted!

BobbyBiscuits · 29/02/2024 08:20

@PawsisShady The duck with pancakes comes with hoisin sauce. You can order it as a seperate sauce I guess. Get salt and pepper chicken wings or shredded crispy chicken, chicken balls and dip them in it?

Saymyname28 · 29/02/2024 08:22

Plain chow mein with no onion
Egg fried rice
Crispy shredded beef
Quarter duck
Chips

Honey chilli chicken wings

That might work! There's loads of meals in there I haven't tried so might have to google what the sauces are

BookishBabe · 29/02/2024 08:32

Sweet and sour chicken balls
Beef and peppers in black bean sauce
Ribs in Barbecue sauce
Large egg fried rice
Large plain noodles

Scarlettpixie · 29/02/2024 08:51

We usually order:

Vegetable curry
Boiled rice
Mushroom chow mein
Chips
Black pepper or satay sauce

Sometimes we add in an extra vegetable dish (kung po or szechuan) and then there are more leftovers. We usually have whats left for lunch the next day topped up with something from the freezer if needed (eg spring rolls).

Claloulat · 29/02/2024 08:59

Between 3 of us we usually get,

Special chop suey
Fried rice
Boiled rice
Chips
Pancake roll
Chicken balls
Curry sauce

I do love a beef, chicken or king prawn curry, bbq spare ribs in peking sauce chow mean and singapore noodles but we rarely order them. Need to change things up a bit and try more!

Jenry · 29/02/2024 09:02

Singapore chow mein
chicken fried rice
duck with pineapple and ginger

That’s just for me but makes 3 meals overall!

DinoMummsy · 29/02/2024 09:16

Sweet and sour chicken balls, chips and prawn crackers. Sometimes add vegetable spring rolls if we're feeling fancy.
