Gp- appointments via online triage?

Hi,
Does anyone know how this works?

I'm a nurse and a manager. I couldn't answer my phone a lot of the time because I am with patients / on the phone to patients talking about very sensitive and emotional subjects. It wouldn't be even slightly appropriate for me to just nip out halfway through to take a call.

If I was in a meeting with other staff no one would mind much if I took a call and tbh they are mostly on teams these days, so I'd just excuse myself briefly in the chat.

Unfortunately my GP won't schedule call backs around my meetings. They just phone "in the morning" or "in the afternoon".

Teams meetings it's easier definitely. Face to face not so much.

@HollaHolla I think with a team of 20 people with kids and elderly parents. I think it would be all the time.

No idea. We’ve basically given up ever having access to a gp again. Ours have gone this route, now we need to download two apps and verify our identity on both by video on one and by us img four access codes only available from our surgery on both apps to gain access, to get the codes we have to take photo id, two filled in forms with address, email, telephone number - everything they already have on file, granting permission for our health details to be made accessible and a form of address is such as an electric bill.
Got as far as trying to do the video verification and the app won’t accept the video from our phones. It took three weeks of daily faffing about trying to get that far. So nope no dr for us! Cannot get an appointment by going in or ringing up - phone lines are always ‘down due to a technical issue’.
Daft thing is the surgery never has anyone in the waiting room.
Guess is one way of getting the waiting Lisitsa down at the local hospital. 🤷‍♀️
