to be effing FURIOUS that YET AGAIN some (*&&% has dumped their binbags into my wheelie bin, filling it so I can't get my rubbish in?

And it's collection day today!

I have taken their bags out, put them on a grass verge about 300 metres away, but I did this last night and some cheeky fucker went and put them back next to my bin.

they are NOT mine, I KNOW they are not mine, I've been through them.

What can I do though? Am I going to get done for fly tipping because someone else is stealing my binspace?

is there anything in there which could identify the person? An old envelope or something?

Can you padlock the bin? Or keep it round the back till bin day?

Will you be home when the bin collectors come? Can you go and explain?

No, I have to go out, and there is no way of getting a wheelie bin round to the back of my house.

I'd do the padlock thing. You can drill a hole in the corner of the bin going through the lid and base and lock the buggers out I'm on our preschool committee and we're having trouble keeping people from putting rubbish in the wheelie bins. Especially now there's 2 and they keep putting non-recylcing rubbish in the recycling bin

We already have fortnightly collections and moggots in the summer.

Oppose fortnightly collections whenever your area wants them, they are an appallingf idea that has led to nothing but tension, maggots and rats! They should have just given us smaller bins!

I would be searching the bin for anything to identify the culprit!

I have rung the council and reported it as fly tipping.

I have a horrible feeling that mty neighbour has done this, and I LIKE her, but oh well. I'm not having this every bloody fortnight, it takes the piss.

It's still not on though even if she is usually nice. I think you have done the right thing re ringing the council.

I have had this on a regular basis,my 'neighbours' (and I use the term loosely) have been doing this ever since the fortnightly collections started.
The first time we went through the rubbish and found a order slip with their name and address on,bagged the rubbish back up and put a polite notice through their door and left the bags on their doorstep.
Nothing was said ,and for a couple of weeks it stopped but has since happened three or four times.I wouldn't mind but they don't even put the bags in the correct bin.
We live in a terraced house ,so our bins are in our front garden,as to put them round the back means trudging through 3 peoples gardens.

We rang the council and complained and they said we are allowed to padlock the bins,as long as they are open to be emptied on collection day.Since we've done this they've started using another neighbours bin.

I wouldn't mind but we don't drive,they do and the local tip is a 5 minute car ride away.

Where we live we have a compostable rubbish bin for food and garden waste. No plastic bags allowed. This morning some ?!%? put a load of black bin bags filled with goodness knows what into my bin so the council will not empty it. So now I'm stuck with an umemptied bin and their rubbish for the next week. I'm fuming too.

If you can find details of an ddress in the rubbish, rather than putting it back there, ring the council and report them for fly tipping.

TheHedgewitch...we have 3 bins a green one for garden waste,a black and orange bin for recycling and black for household rubbish.
Our household rubbish bin and recycling bin are full(not overflowing) when they are collected so wouldn't have room to put extra rubbish in ....but if they weren't and they asked me then I would have no problem at all.

My main upset is they stick they're rubbish in our green bin,as my garden is mostly lawn the only time this bin is used is in the summer for grass cuttings(although we now have a composter)....they stick they're bags in there full of food etc and one black bin bag full of the contents of they're cat litter tray.

It doesn't seem to bother them at all,the fact that now our bins have been locked and they now have moved onto other neighbours bins have proved it...it's just incredibly rude and lazy.
