You should slow down

I feel a bit.... upset/annoyed. Wonder if I'm being unreasonable and should shrug it off.

My Dad commented to me today that I should "slow down at my age."

He listed a few things I'd done over the weekend (a hobby, a night out with DH and friends and the gym) and then said "You should slow down at your age."

I am 42!

If you were commenting that you were tired then fair enough. If he said it out of the blue, then he’s a cheeky sod!

Is he really saying ‘You should slow down….so you have more time/ energy to spend on/ with me’?

Otherwise, he’s talking nonsense, of course!

What on earth?

I'll be on full speed ahead by the time I'm 40. Had DC when I was 18 and have spent my 20s and early 30s being a parent. I shall be out drinking and travelling in my 40s.

He probably just cares about you and wants you to take it easy.
