Finding out baby's gender

My third, my husband's first.

He doesn't want to find out the gender. I wouldn't mind knowing.

Would I BU if I found out and didn't tell him? I feel like I am bending over backwards, trying to make the pregnancy special for him as it's his first time but then I'm missing out on things that I want to do this time around.

I know it's as shady as hell to do it and not tell him but he definitely wants to know. Should I just stick it out?

YABU: You agreed to wait, so wait.
YANBU: It's your pregnancy too, find out if you want to.

Gender

Don't you need to wait till they're 14 and tell you to find that out?

No I don't think you do. Under UK law individuals are considered to be the sex recognised on their birth certificate. Male or female. It is thus perfectly accurate to speak in terms of the gender of a newly born baby as much as it is to use the term sex. The Gender Recognition Act 2004 enables a person to change the gender recorded on their birth certificate but that does not alter the basic fact that it is accurate to speak of the gender of a newly born baby. It is equally true that individuals may come to identify with a gender category different from their gender (or sex) at birth. But again that does not alter the fact that it is permissible to use the term gender in the context of a newly born baby. That reflects the position under English law.
