Does proper laser hair removal really work?

I get terrible shaving rash and ingrown hairs so have to shave as little as possible but I also hate body hair and it gets me down.

I bought a Phillips lumea last summer but despite using it exactly to instructions it hasn't worked at all.

If that didn't work, would proper laser therapy at a clinic be any different? Looking for experiences of those who have given it a try please

If it makes a difference my skin tone is very light, hair colour light/medium brown

It worked on some areas but not others for me. But the reduction is enough to make a huge difference. I only have to shave my underarms once a month. Bikini hair was gone initially but now came back in some areas (about 10 years since treatment). Navel hair gone after one session and never reappeared. I only did two sessions on my legs and it is a major improvement. Haven’t been able to go back to finish the treatment, unfortunately.

No, I don't think they do a guarantee

If anyone is in the market for a barely used lumea....

I've bitten the bullet and booked an assessment session and will report back

@Speckledpasta how did you get on?

I had laser on bikini line around 20 years ago. Think it took more sessions than they originally anticipated. Perhaps 10? But it did work brilliantly

I had it done over 20 years ago...legs and bikini line. Never had an.issue.

I had the same issues and home devices never did much for me. What finally made a dent was proper medical-grade treatment; something like laser hair removal uxbridge gave me far fewer ingrowns and way less irritation. It took a few sessions, but my skin calmed down and shaving stopped being a battle. If you’re fed up with the constant flare-ups, it might be worth a chat with a clinic that uses a stronger laser.

Did for me. 20 years on now and no hair growth. Had legs and bikini line done

I've just started for same reasons of ingrowing hairs are causing me agony. Had my legs and armpits done about 8 years ago, get the odd hair. I can't wait for this course of treatment now. It works best on light skin and dark hair.

I have found under arms, legs and bikini to be amazing.my leg hair was horrific, thick and dark and it has gone completely. I haven’t found full Hollywood to be particularly good and will need more sessions and face has been ok but not amazing
