£28 energy charge

I was rather taken back to learn that every household is having £28 added to their yearly energy charges to pay for people who are in debt with their bills. There doesn’t seem to be much of a reaction to this but it doesn’t sit right with me.

They haven’t done it on the quiet. They’ve told everyone! Unlike all the other companies who put prices up to cover bad debts.

Daily charge for electric going up to 60p a day! That's a massive increase!

These thieving bastards! So upsetting they continue to get away with this while making a massive profit.

Also this extra charge for people that can't afford their bill, will their debt even be reduced?! They will probably still have to pay it all anyway!

So is this £28 on top of the ever increasing standing charge or has it already been incorporated into it for this year

Quite, I'll be paying more on the standing charges than I do for the energy I use. The standing charges should be a percentage of the bill, not a fixed amount.
