To think this is fantastic, of course. Now can we sort out women’s rights wrt women’s spaces, and stop this 1%Of women have penises nonsense?

Respect biological women’s spaces or be sued, that kind of thing?

This lot are shit and Starmer's lot will be even shittier.

But people don’t want to see/ hear this.

Earlier today I watched a clip of Starmer responding to a 'what is a woman?' type question.
Ten minutes of pure flubber.

And yet it is such a simple question.

BIossomtoes · 22/02/2024 17:32

So simple that the vast majority of the human race doesn’t even bother asking it.

😂🙈 where is your reading comprehension seriously now?

‘because someone has made how angry they are that a tiny percent of the population have gender dysphoria, their whole identity and can't talk about anything else’

I am talking about women and women’s rights. Keeping men out of women’s spaces (spaces as defined earlier). The fact you keep bringing up trans people is bizarre, frankly.

Edited

Oh come on. You know you are talking about trans women. What other male born people are you referring to when you are talking about this "women with penises nonsense" in the title of your post?

Don't try and make out that this isn't a thread you have made to share your opinion about trans inclusion whilst pretending you have made it about menopause rights.

Sigh. The thread was not about ‘menopause rights’ 🙄. I was extrapolating from that decision to say why can’t we have a decision such as this to say eg. People get sued for not respecting women’s rights. Of course we would need the biological female definition of women defined in law. Even that seems too hard for some.

So again - I was, I am, speaking about women’s rights.

I really admire you and everyone else for sticking with this…especially in the face of constant hostility and name calling.

It is so important.

catgirl1976 · 22/02/2024 17:59

@TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth The menopause has been found to potentially qualify as a disability under the EA in a recent tribunal. Like any condition that is long term and has a significant impact on someone’s ability to carry out day to day tasks. So for many women it won’t amount to a disability but for some it will.

Do feel free to identify where there has been name calling.

It's seeping out everywhere. You can't call a woman a woman without being labelled a bigot now. I understand and applaud what the OP is trying to do.

Raquelos · 22/02/2024 19:09

I'm 100% with the OP on this one it's a positive move around the menopause, and more of this kind of thing would be welcome.
Women's rights aren't tedious. People trying to close down conversations about how they are under attack are though.

Thank you. One has to ask who are these people who try to close down others fighting for women’s rights.

Who are they? And what motivation do they have?

As another poster asked on a different thread - who benefits from the destruction of the social norms protecting women?

There has been no name calling on this thread.

There's also plenty of name calling on various threads directed at women who don't toe the approved gender critical line.

Well quite! It isn't clear online when posters could be anyone. It becomes rather more obvious when you see who is advocating for it in the real world though.

I have always felt that following the money is a good approach when trying to determine motivation beyond the obvious, however, perhaps I am just a terrible cynic.🤔

Women getting exasperated that women are prioritising the feelings of men? What a shocker.

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 22/02/2024 22:52

@pointythings
I'm worried about the way some GC women seem perfectly happy to throw women under the bus because they can't see beyond all things trans
Same

My issue is and always has been about women’s rights. Not trans this or trans that, as some people like to twist it

Yet in the very title says "women with penises nonsense" 🙄 Biscuit
Which has absolutely nothing to do with menopause discrimination, why not focus on that instead of shoehorning trans issues in all the time?;

Cynic or conspiracy theorist, as they tend to do that too....

BIossomtoes · 22/02/2024 12:04

This. It’s beyond tedious.

OP is discussing women’s rights and safety issues, currently under attack, in a forum called Mumsnet. What’s wrong with that?

Because that’s not what she’s doing. It’s patently obvious what her agenda is from the thread title. And she's constantly doing it.

Dogdilemma2000 · 22/02/2024 23:12

This has nothing to do with trans people- why can’t you just celebrate that women going through menopause now have legal rights?

That's not typically how conspiracy theories work though is it but don't let that stop you from trying to dismiss an opinion you don't like. Anything to avoid acknowledging the actual and obvious issue that allowing men to self identify into the female category has terrible consequences for women's rights and safety.

What isn't? Talking about mysterious "they's behind the scenes with possible nefarious intentions, with a vague "follow the money..." reference - it's exactly what conspiracy theorists do too.

It's a thread about the menopause!
Wait, are you actually saying it is about trans /womens issues and another identikit trans thread, as OP says it's not - aye, ok, looks like it 🙄
