Not aibu just intrigued. This thread was done on here ages ago and it was so fun. I have two:

Pasta is gross, I'll eat it but its not delicious as people make it out to be its cold slimy dough.

I'm sure she's nice but Beyonce is overrated.

OP posts:

Disney clothes on adults.
Champagne.
Duck lips and funny eyebrows,
Those leggings that look like you're naked.
Folks who harp on about how many 'steps' they've done.
The Kardashian's 🤷‍♀️
White youths who try and talk in that weird Jamaican/street ghetto language but have never left Bromley/woolwich!
🤣 bad mannered folks.... I think that's all. Grin

ChocolateCinderToffee · 20/02/2024 05:06

Lurpak is very ordinary. If you want special butter, you buy Président.

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 05:23

I find the taste of most of supermarket chocolate taste quality is not as good as used to be,
event the consistency too,
I can't quite explain it 😕

ElderlyPerson · 20/02/2024 05:27

White chocolate
Tea with milk
Mumsnetters who write "ect" instead of "etc"

Nicole Kidman
Current rage is for local Italian restaurant who charged us extra for requesting parmesan on our pasta

MaggieHM · 20/02/2024 05:39

I'm happy enough with everyone having their own opinions, even controversial ones. This thread has made me smile, angry, and come to the realisation that differences of opinion makes the World interesting.

Gdstsch · 20/02/2024 05:41

Range Rover (and equivalent car) parents should absorb VAT on school fees for families who walk scoot or cycle to school. Eek!!!!

Anon v unpopular private school parent

Gdstsch · 20/02/2024 05:43

Teachers and childcare staff should not address parents as “mum”.
I have a name- learn it. I’m not your mum…

JennyJenny8675309 · 20/02/2024 05:54

Chocolate is overrated.
Toenails done with white tips - disgusting.
Coffee.👎

BarbieDangerous · 20/02/2024 06:04

Friends isn’t funny at all.

Hummus is disgusting.

Happy Valley was SO overrated.

I think going outside and meeting a total stranger (at a club, bar, festival etc) and then sleeping with them is absolute madness. Even kissing a stranger is a step too far for me

I agree. I don’t like it at all.

@Thelightis how does that make someone full of themselves?!

SushiMayo · 20/02/2024 06:07

A lot of these "unpopular opinions" aren't really though. Loads of people think love Island is awful and others think love island is great. How are either of those two opinions "unpopular"?

SushiMayo · 20/02/2024 06:08

Loads of people don't like certain foods. Again, not "unpopular" unless you are talking to the people who make the food I guess. Like you wouldn't walk into a creme egg factory and say "these are shit"

  1. There is not a black person on every single advert on TV.

  2. Which brands should decide not to feature any black people in their TV advertising?

I'd like to add 3. How on earth is it "lighthearted" to have thar opinion

So instead of learning 30 names, they should learn 90 to include both parents? Why do they need to know your name?

cerisepanther73 · 20/02/2024 06:16

@Gdstsch

How 🤔 many parents does the average teacher see in a year

and you expect a teacher to rember pupils parents names then?

I really can't see the 😕 issue,
with this,

Also i can allmost gaurentee that there will be someone at least one of the pupils parents,
who would have issue with a teacher referring to them by first name terms,
such as the teacher being a bit over familar by doing that,
that they prefer just being referred, as the parent of pupils name

and nowadays you be susprised how one person or just a few being a bit miffed about something 🙄
no matter how seemly insignificant in the wider bigger picture of things in life in general,

If they are pro actively vocal enough about it,
can susprisley get their own way...

achieve their objective goal whatever that maybe,

I do think they need to be a little careful that the person they are addressing as "mum" is mum and not a different relation to the child but other than that yeah I don't see the issue.

Differentstarts · 20/02/2024 06:20

People who have their lips done look ridiculous.
People who say hospical need to grow the fuck up.
Fake eyelashes are not a good look.
People who suck up to "influencers" online by writing comments like does the hero respond, or even sending money need psychiatric help
People who like marmite are questionable

CallItLoneliness · 20/02/2024 06:23

Mules look shit on everyone. Wear shoes, or wear sandals, but mules are fucking ugly.

Overfullbookcase · 20/02/2024 06:24

"Bottomless Brunches" are for women who think it's OK to be falling down drunk at 2.00pm, and should be banned.

I don’t like going to independent coffee places.

Totally agree.
They often serve shit coffee and get offended if you say anything.

Costa, Starbucks and Caffè Nero will quite happily change my drink if I have a problem.

Or they could say Ms/Mr child’s surname, and if the parent doesn’t have the child’s surname that’s down to the parents.

ahoyhoyhoy · 20/02/2024 06:32

Disliking dogs on Mumsnet is not an unpopular opinion…

Carrot cake is shite
Lemon cake is shite
Banana bread is shite
Stop putting fruit & vegetables in cakes and confectionery ffs

Happy valley was dull and smug

I found Happy Valley horribly violent and difficult to watch. I wanted to finish it but found it too tricky to watch every night so had to take breaks and watch something more upbeat
