My house is in thorough need of a deep clean.

3 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, kitchen/utility and 2 bathrooms.

AIBU to think I can get it done in a day?

To me, a "deep clean" would be a day per room if they're already tidy.

Hoover/mop
Steam clean carpet/rugs
Dust
Clean appliances
Wash all fabrics (sofa covers, cushions, curtains, etc )
Wash walls
Clean skirting boards and doors
Wash windows
Clean under furniture

Deep cleans don't happen often around here.

I deep clean once a month skirting window the lot takes me bot 12 hours do it in one day.

DuesToTheDirt · 18/02/2024 23:15

Took me weeks, and I only finished a few rooms... that was 5 years ago and I haven't got round to the other rooms....

But then, my "deep clean" included everything, not just cleaning. Sorting out cupboards, repotting plants, touching up paint, revarnishing worn floors.

If I clean it well now 5 hours, so I'm guessing a deep clean would be double that

RantyAnty · 18/02/2024 23:44

About 2 minutes

Call and book a cleaner.

YES, YABU 😂 unless you plan on hiring a team of 8 people. A deep clean means a thorough clean… where you scrub floors, vacuum walls and mounding. Just a single room could take 2-3 days!

Forever, I'm sure. With my attention span being so short!
