to think that 6000 per month is excessive for the government to take off my pay for tax?

Surely there should be a maximum limit that each person has to pay as tax? Six grand per month in tax is just excessive imo. And that is before NI contributions etc. If the government set a maximum tax limit they would take more care over how they spent their central funds. And I wouldn't have to work so many hours away from my DCs only to have 72 bloody grand a year taken off my income to fund their mis-spending.

Flamesparrow · 23/03/2008 20:21

We have judged based on money and hours worked What else are we meant to judge on...? Pretty face??? Previous history??

It is a changed name with sod all information, most likely a troll - you do the same with every thread. Tis like going onto a labour thread and saying "OOoooooh you've all made judgements based on this woman having contractions"

donnie · 23/03/2008 20:21

you are right nemo.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 23/03/2008 20:21

Your family tragedy sounds awful, but you are not alone in this tradegy. Many MNers have terrible things happen, without family support and without fat wads of taxed cash.

What on earth do you spend all that money on every month...really?

tootaxed · 23/03/2008 20:22

It's a bowel complaint that my daughter has. It leaves her dreadfully constipated. i am in the process of challenging AXA about it. They wont cover it because she was being seen by the doctor about it before our company transferred insurance from BUPA to AXA. There was a form that was sent to ask if anyone is undergoing existing treatment and to let them know. I did not see form (lots of things tend to go astray in our house - its a bit manic!). And because i did not alert them to existing condition they will not cover it (unless it comes under terms of emergency or life threatening).

Anyone up for some isketch instead? I'll go open a room and start a thread...

I still say your kids need a mother more than money. If you are for real.

FrayedKnot · 23/03/2008 20:24

I had a medically unecessary but advisable operation on my corporate Bupa health insurance last year ..they never even quibbled it.

I would check out some different schemes if I was you.

Jane68 · 23/03/2008 20:25

My judgements are based on the following:

1, Not being prepared to do civic duty and pay proportional tax through greed
2, Working 100 hours per week and moaning about not seeing children through greed
3, Working 100 hours per week and not ill/disabled husband through greed
4, Not paying for childs op through greed
5, Coming on here and moaning
Get over yourself.

scanner · 23/03/2008 20:25

Actually I do think that paying tax is gaulling and actually the more you pay the harder it is. Why everyone pounces on someone who earns well, I don't know. There are few well paid jobs that don't involve a hell of a lot of hard work and sacrifice.

However as a good socialist I believe in tax.

how on earth can you work 100+ hours a week, care fro a poorly dd and Dh and still have time to MN?

sorry but i smell a rattroll

tootaxed · 23/03/2008 20:26

Do you really want a breakdown of my monthly spending? After tax, tithing, NI, mortgage (which is a LOT because I have to house my, DH, DCs and parents), and usual outgoings there is not a lot left. Not enough to pay for a private operation anyway.
I know that other people struggle and i am sorry that they do. But it doesnt mean that people like me dont struggle either.
I will leave you all now and take the well intentioned advice of chocolate and a cry before bed.

milkgoddess · 23/03/2008 20:27

what a load of shit

quarkee · 23/03/2008 20:27

Lapin - i can see that...still interesting though

Re working hours - where I work is a bit like that - i used to do c 60 hours a week and be a bit of a slacker - now i do 4 days a week and pack in almost as much but still feel i am getting the fuzzy end of the promotion lolipop which is a shame for our mortgage but i wont go back to 5 days as i wouldnt see DS. that decison would be much harder if i didnt have DH working too - some working environments are like that and u tend to get sucked in to such a degree you cant see any alternative - i sympathise with TT on that point.

K999 · 23/03/2008 20:28

TooTaxed, you sound like you have been through a rough time and I am sorry that your daughter cannot get the operation that she needs. As you are aware, we all have to pay tax and the more you earn the more you pay......however I too would be gutted to pay that amount in tax every month.......you should certainly campaign your MP wrt the health service. Surely as someone who pays so much tax then it would be appropriate to get some kind of 'priority' card??

Nemoandthefishes · 23/03/2008 20:28

I have pieces of paper everywhere..but hey ho I have a memory like an elephant.

nancy75 · 23/03/2008 20:28

interesting response from everyone about the op/private health care. if this person pays £6000 per month tax isnt she entitled to nhs just like everyone else? after all she is paying rather alot towards the nhs. as for paying for the op herself - even on her salary that could be well out of her reach.

scottishmummy · 23/03/2008 20:29

this is not xenia. not her style.

milkgoddess · 23/03/2008 20:29

tootaxed stop bullshitting and get a life

Scattybird · 23/03/2008 20:29

It's not Xenia, she would never bemoan the fact that she earns trillions

quarkee · 23/03/2008 20:30
