CBD gummies for anxiety

Linlithgow · 17/02/2024 23:28

I get severe anxiety and a friend recommended trying CBD gummies/oil.

I need something mainly for work related anxiety and not being able to sleep.

Any recommendations if you have tried them and they worked.

Or AIBU stay away from them.

I started using Trip CBD oil. You just put a couple of drops under your tongue. It takes the edge off when I have mild anxiety. I haven't tried the gummies.

Thank you, I will look at this brand.

I would recommend a new job search first.

Linlithgow · 19/02/2024 00:47

@ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees I think regardless of my job I would still get anxiety, it's triggered easily. Although I do understand your point 😂

Honestly? They had no effect on me. And I tried three different brands.

Linlithgow · 19/02/2024 00:51

@TheShellBeach which brands? Ahh that is a shame I was hoping for a miracle!

I can't remember now, but they were from different sites and they all cost a fortune.

I hear ads for “microdosing” all the time when listening to US podcasts. Sounds like homeopathy to me, does it actually work?

ButtCheeks · 19/02/2024 10:03

I wouldn’t bother with gummies, you don’t absorb all the cbd from them. A high quality broad/full-spectrum oil is much better, from a third-party lab certified brand.
Reakiro or Blessed cbd are very good.

however, all the cbd won’t help you much if you’re not addressing the root of your anxiety

Well, I tried various doses and they just did nothing.

Maybe they have a placebo effect on some people.

It's public speaking, unfortunately, it's part of my role!

I’ve had a similar struggle with anxiety and sleep issues. I tried CBD gummies and found them helpful for easing anxiety, especially during work. They didn’t make me feel groggy, which was great. I also gave the THCA flower a shot once, and it was surprisingly soothing and helped with sleep. Everyone reacts differently, so it might take some experimenting to find what works best for you. If you’re open to trying, start with CBD gummies.

ssd · 12/08/2024 19:39

Op, you need propranolol from your gp. Trust me.

DriftRune · 07/09/2025 14:40

I found they made me a bit drowsy at first, but after a few days I felt more relaxed overall. Start small and give it a little time to kick in.

Acropolis49 · 07/09/2025 14:56

I can't comment on CBD, but consider asking your GP for propranolol. It is very effective on the physical symptoms of anxiety and really helps with stuff like public speaking if you find it hard.

DriftRune · 15/09/2025 22:23

I’ve been using CBD for anxiety and found it helps take the edge off, especially during really stressful days. If you’re also dealing with other stuff like pain from endo, there’s some helpful info on dosage and how CBD works for that here: releaf.co.uk/education/medical/pain/endometriosis/cbd-dosage-for-endometriosis. Everyone reacts a bit differently, so starting low and keeping track worked best for me.

YouOKHun · 16/09/2025 01:17

CBT for public speaking might be more useful than CBD? I know you’re looking for speedy relief but it’s amazing how easily we can fall into reinforcing anxiety by continuing to do the very things that feel helpful and through certain way of thinking; the assumption we make the rumination after the event, catastrophic misinterpretation of physical sensations … we can really do a number on ourselves. I hope you find something helpful but it would be worth considering a short course of CBT (with a BABCP accredited therapist).

The microdosing mentioned in podcast ads is probably about THC gummies, which are not legal in the UK, sadly.

When visiting the UK, I got some CBD gummies in Waitrose and they were excellent. Felt really Zen on them.

GetOffMyLan · 16/09/2025 01:42

Cbd gummies never did much for me but xanax is pretty great

TempestTost · 16/09/2025 02:00

There isn't any evidence that CBD works, studies say the effect isn't any better than the placebo.

Some people will use products with THC for anxiety, but my understanding is that there is some evidence that while it improves it in the very short term the longer term effect is to make it worse.

Nat6999 · 16/09/2025 02:11

The oils are best, then use gummies to top up during the day. I use Simply CBD oil & high dose peach ring gummies, you can also get CBD capsules & vape juice if you vape.

BurntBroccoli · 16/09/2025 21:17

Ask your Dr for some Propranolol. I find a very low 10mg works. If you have a stressful meeting up it to 20mg.

Do you have an exercise regime? I find it really helps generally.
