What irritates you about other people?

I get really irritated when someone won’t accept “I don’t know” as my answer. Something along the lines of:

”Sarah is having a baby! Do you know when it’s due?”
”No, I didn’t know she was pregnant”
”Her oldest is four and she didn’t want a big age gap so it’s probably soon” <Looks at me expectantly>
”I didn’t know she was pregnant so no idea I’m afraid”
”But when do you think it would be?” <Looks at me expectantly>
”Still no idea. Between now and six months?!?”

Or

”I need to hire a nanny. How do you recruit a nanny?”
”I don’t have a nanny so couldn’t say. Have you talked to Sarah, she will probably know?”
”I should probably talk to a nanny agency, which one should I call?”
”I’ve never hired a nanny through an agency so no idea I’m afraid”
”But you must have some idea!”

It has to be okay to sometimes just say “I dunno”.

The vast majority of adults will like either Disney or marvel lmao

What kind of people are we supposed to be??

Many phobias are curable though. Most are irrational and hypnotherapy can be very effective.

I am laughing through most of these as it's EXACTLY how I feel every bloody day... not keen on peopling

Everyone. I'm fed up of thinking for other people because they are too dumb or are they clever in getting someone else to work it out, why have a dog and bark yourself springs to mind? It's like having to be the grown up and hold the hand and spoon feed them all the time.

People who don't order medication on time, people who don't know what tablets they take and what are they for. People who phone to ask if their prescription is ready, the one they ordered 3 days ago and who were told when it would be ready during the phone call they made when they ordered it.

People who have run out of meds and ring on a Friday afternoon expecting miracles or the ones who have run out and they are going on holiday the next day or that night even.

You can tell I've been in work today.

I take your point but I find that some people dismiss phobias because they don’t have them, instead of acknowledging someone else’s perspective. Even if it is irrational. ‘Oh you just need to get over it/get in the lift/on a plane/hold a spider’. It’s not helpful and in some cases, it’s quite rude.

People that believe their own lies.
Sexist, racist, homophobic people with dinosaur attitudes.

Being invited to things in the arse end of nowhere. I ask for a lift and get no response. I then say I can't get there and there's always someone who whinges. Well it's not a secret I don't drive.

People who use the word “woke”
when they really mean they can’t continue to be rude, ignorant, self-absorbed, dismissive unnecessarily about other people anymore.

People who have no regard for other's in earshot.. Spent an hour listening to a group of people holding a keep fit class outside my window.. Happens 7 days a week. 6 am daily.

Can I add to that recruiters who can’t or won’t take in that you don’t drive. “But it would be such a perfect job for you!” Erm, no it wouldn’t - a perfect job is one where I can get to the premises.

I had one once desperate to put me forward for a job that would have been a 40-minute drive away. I said I didn’t drive, so it wouldn’t be suitable, as I’d been approached about a role in the area before, and it would involve a two hour commute using three trains. She said, “Ooh, I’m sure it wouldn’t take that long. Sadie used to live out that way; I’ll ask her and get back to you”. She then emailed saying “Sadie says it will only take about an hour and a half. Or you could drive.”

People who are hung up on following certain procedures and protocols when they have outlived their usefulness and who can’t see that if rules no longer serve a purpose they are redundant.

People are best avoided in general, with a small number of exceptions.

Stopped car yesterday to let a woman do a three point turn with plenty of space. Once she had finished she just blithely drove past me with no thanks. Just stared straight ahead. Cunt

Something that really does annoy me now and it seems to be happening more often. People who have conversations on the phone while being served in shops cafes etc
I watched someone yesterday standing by the till while talking on his phone the shop assistant waited patiently for him to finish while a lengthy queue built up behind him.
Being an old cow these days I will tell offenders to have their conversation elsewhere so I can get served.

Adults who wear clothes with infantile motifs... Browsing Tesco for pj's for a poorly friend. Ironed on plastic motifs. Made me cringe. And they were £22.50!! Whole sections of Disney adult clothes in Primark!!

People that defend a position by ending 'it just is' - usually in the case of an emotional stance
When someone says 'I am a parent so I understand...'
An anecdote to back up a point of view
When debating a general issue, bringing up their own past experience of trauma or illness, as though that trumps any other attitude on the subject
Runners on fast roads full of traffic
Motorists who don't acknowledge that another motorist has given way

People that say poorly when they are ill. Winds me up, it's cringe.

Competitiveness. It only gets more boring as I get older.
