Coloured cheese

Dh and I were each out about on Saturday. Twat forgot his phone. We had had a conversation about just picking up a dine in for this evening. So it ended up that we both did.

We both picked cheese, because we don't do desserts. I got an m and s one, he got waitrose. Primarily due to proximity. The waitrose cheese is all cheese coloured. Also v tasty! The m and s one has an orange blue cheese. Why? Just why? What even makes cheese orange? It is especially weird to me that it is an orange blue cheese. I just don't even want to eat it.

Dh thinks I am being weird. Aibu?

It depends on the type of cheese! What is it called?

Here's an explanation

If it's Blacksticks Blue, don't question it. Just eat it 😊

That was very informative, but actually confuses me more. I just do not think it is aestheticly pleasing at all. I am not that keen on any cheese being coloured, but in a blue cheese, it seems pure wrong.

Will have to see if I still have the packet.

The blacksticks blue is lovely. Wish I could still eat it.

It is blacksticks blue!

Then you are in luck!! It is one of my favourite cheeses. I would say it's a real treat, but sometimes I buy it every week 😁

I dream of eating blue cheese.
Unfortunately, I have developed an intolerance to dairy so I can only look at it longingly.

As I'm a fan of local cheeses I checked the website

The orange comes from Annatto which is created from the seeds of the achiote tree. Not only does it give Blacksticks Blue a great all year round tan, it adds a subtle flavour that simply doesn't exist without it.

Shropshire blue is also an orange blue cheese. And delicious.
