AIBU Not to blame Biden but those that prop him up?

DistinguishedSocialCommenator · 14/02/2024 09:18

I never liked Biden as I knew (but was wrong re dates) as I always felt the vice president was the puppet master and president in waiting when Biden became President

Biden, for his age is more alert mentally and physically of many clients I met i their mid-60's. However, as for being president of the USA, a super power, Biden is definitely not the man now. Biden is being mocked even by those that supported him. TV stations that were ardent supporters of Bidne are now questioning his ability.

For the above reasons, I do not blame Biden for putting himself first and everything and everyone else second, I blame those that are propping up up in the hope to win the election this year and putting their country and the world at risk!

Biden and co are no different to our lot, IE them first everything else comes afterwards IMO

AIBU not to blame Biden but the selfish lot that are putting themselves and the political party before everything/everyone else?

No blame Biden, he is one of the most corrupt presidents in US history, using the courts and social media (think Twitter discounting Hunter Biden's laptop) to get into office then stay in office where to avoid prosecution. When he is called to account he will plead mental impairment, a decision gifted to him in the recent court verdict that the classified docs at his home were a result of his failing memory so he could not be held accountable!

My bad. Thank you. I don't follow politics but the headlines showing up this man, it makes me embarrassed. I do vaguely recall something about he could not recall the events and left off the hook

I have no time for Trump, but he can't hide his feelings and its good to see what people really feel than talk BS and many fall for it.

Wow MAGA out in force today. Perhaps focus your concern on the fact that a rapist, liar, bigoted racist seems to be the alternative that the Republicans are putting up!

That's complete nonsense and misreporting of a misreporting report that even the judge said had veered for political gain. The fact that there are numpties out there believing this bullshit makes me fear for the USA.

And this is the problem, people like you. The thinking that is someone is not with you then they must be against you. The belligerent either/or thinking.

MAGA out in force? Two posters?

Also, why is it so difficult to understand that not everybody who thinks Biden might be getting a bit unfit for the job supports Trump.

Is Trump a liability? Yes.
Is Biden becoming one? Yes.

MarnieMarnie · 14/02/2024 09:41

God almighty - Trump literally tried to overthrow a legally and democratically elected president and @Kryten1958 thinks Biden is the most corrupt president in history?

I feel very sorry for Biden, who I think is essentially a good man with the best interests of the US people at heart. Being potus has taken a massive toll on him and its desperately sad there doesn't seem to be anyone who can take over from him. I thought he'd do two years and have Harris step into his shoes for the rest of his term, then retire from politics at the end of his term. Its extremely worrying that Trump is likely to be reelected.

I am more inclined to agree with this poster.

I’m sure he had his faults, and may well be quite blind when his son is concerned.

However I do think he’s a good man who has basically become President out of a sense of duty, to keep the actual most corrupt and generally unfit President in history (Donald Trump) and all of his MAGA followers out of office.

Biden is past his best, no doubt, but he’s a lot better than the alternative.

W0tnow · 14/02/2024 10:25

I would not describe Biden as physically alert! Not by a long shot. He moves like an old man, which is what he is. You must be hanging around some decrepit 65 year olds!

As for mentally? I’m not convinced. He forgot the name of Hamas the other day.

Jovacknockowitch · 14/02/2024 10:31

There is just zero room for any proper debate in US politics is there? and it's not much better here. Just hate from each "side".

I fear for democracy in general when people refuse to engage in respectful debate.

There was a really interesting caller on lbc the other day. He has a stammer but had managed to overcome it, much like Biden. What was interesting was him taking about certain words that trip.him up so he is always a step ahead in a conversation to give himself a chance to find an alternative word. He thought that a lot of Bidens gaffs are down to the way questions are put to him, ie in a way to deliberately trip him up by using certain words that target his stammer. No idea if it's true but it seemed plausible. And to me Biden sounds exhausted, so it's no wonder he's losing words.

American are an absolute laughing stock at the moment. There's so many people to chose from, but it's likely to be between Trump and Biden?? The whole thing is ridiculous.

I know Starmar and Sunak are not great but at least we have systems to get rid of our prime minister, s even if they are in office
Out if the whole of America Biden and Trump are the best two candidates ??

I was saying to my husband the other day that he now walks like my (now deceased) MIL did who had dementia and before that had had a stroke. Coincidentally it looks like a puppet, kind of cloppy unbalanced footsteps.

Don't be ridiculous. I'd like Biden to stand down ASAP precisely because surely some of the alternatives democrats would have a much better chance against Trump.Hmm

Etincelle · 14/02/2024 12:25

He's a million times better than Trump of course, but yes from what I've seen he's getting confused and he was never very diplomatic. Obama was great.

Unfortunately it’s not just in the USA.
People here don’t appear to be able to have a reasonable conversation and actually listen to other people’s views.

I don't completely disagree but feel that Biden has been surprisingly politically effective under quite difficult political circumstances.
Obama managed healthcare but not as much as many had hoped.

As I said, the man Biden is good for his age, but as a president, he is a dangerous clown supported by some awful advisors.

Creepy uncle joe or trump the rapist. No hope really.

Biden is not a fool, but is made to look like one every time he appears in public. I blame those who are putting themselves first and everyone else last.

You are completely wrong. One is a monster and the other has severe cognitive impairment. Both have god complexes and the Democratic Party needs to oust Biden who, for some reason, cannot be made to resign. The fate of the Ukraine, NATO, the global markets and democracy in the US are going to be determined by this election. Yet, Biden insists that only he can save the world from Trump. It most definitely does not mean you are MAGA if you want an alternative to Biden. Biden may well not be on this Earth when the US becomes a proper dictatorship, but hey he thinks he is the best man to spare the US trump. My god, the hubris of the man. Why, I ask, are his family and close circle not encouraging him to step down? Every time he makes another verbal ‘slip’, I cringe. Can this be real? What has happened to the US?
