To think no-one in real life has ever walked around in a boyfriend's shirt the morning after?

Standard movie trope of morning after a romp. Woman wandering around in the man's work shirt making coffee and looking sexy.

Has anyone actually done this in real life? I've had my fair share of romps and this has definitely never come up. Maybe I never dated enough men who wore shirts?

I can confirm that people do this.
On a girls holiday we had a dress up night, one of us went back to a man's hotel. In the morning the rest of us waited in eager anticipation by the pool for her to arrive back at the hotel in last nights fancy dress costume. Much to our disappointment she arrived looking very sexy in a man's shirt.

Did you wear it to make coffee and have sexy tanned legs?

30 years ago, yes. Although it was a t-shirt rather than a work shirt. 😂

DopeyS · 12/02/2024 18:42

Never done this. My husband put my jeans on once by accident 🤣 not quite the same look though

CoalCraft · 12/02/2024 18:46

I've nicked quite a lot of jumpers and shirts that DH was gifted but didn't like. I wear them often and sometimes that happens to be the morning after sex, do I suppose I've done this, but not intentionally.

A Tshirt yes.

The men I’ve been with take too much pride in their shirts for me to parade around in it as home clothes.

Have you never been on a date somewhere classy enough to have a dress code/expectation that men wear suits?

The specification was work shirt, not evening shirt. The men I dated knew the difference.

Anonymouslyposting · 12/02/2024 20:04

I used to do this all the time. Wouldn’t look right now I’m old and not skinny though.

Oh my bad, I missed the phrase "work shirt", I'd honed in on "shirt" from the post title - that makes more sense!

MojoDojoCasaHouse · 12/02/2024 20:11

Wandering around in a crisp work shirt naked underneath doesn’t seem very comfortable to me. You’d more than likely be hungover if waking up from an unplanned sleepover so hardly likely to be cool and sexy looking. I did wear an old collarless white linen shirt of DH’s to give birth in. It was binned afterwards.

GettingStuffed · 12/02/2024 20:15

I'm busty and tall so mens shirts either don't do up or they fit like a shirt.

Crunchymum · 12/02/2024 20:20

Impromptu hotel shag with a work colleague / boss / some business man at a conference

That's literally the only situation I could think of that you wouldn't have access to anything but a man's white shirt.

** obviously it's a low rent hotel without robes
** obviously you were wearing something that doesn't do the job of "covering you post shag" (although I guess you could get fully dressed?)

Have done the t-shirt thing in real life but never a white shirt.

ShakeNvacStevens · 12/02/2024 20:23

I’m generous of norkage so I’ve never got to experience the man’s shirt thing. Neither have I been made a plate of eggs or stack of pancakes for breakfast only to eat one forkful before either I or they hotfoot it out of the front door.

And why does no one in movieland own a duvet??

logo1236 · 12/02/2024 20:26

I have done it lots of times, because men's hoodies are more comfy tbh

No. The 'nipples poking out from under the hem' look would put the bloke off forever after.

Best answer ever

LlynTegid · 12/02/2024 20:35

Sex scenes in films are so unrealistic I would be happier without them. And about 99.99% never refer to condoms or contraception of any kind.

Princessfluffy · 12/02/2024 23:50

Yeah I've done this a lot in my 20s as had delusions of living my life like in the films 😂
I do have amazing although untanned legs and thought I looked great in men's clothes...

I'm not sure how sexy vs annoying my boyfriends found this behaviour, I think it was definitely a mix.

LoobyDop · 13/02/2024 09:17

There is something a bit ick about putting on a shirt already worn by someone else though, why would you do that when you could borrow a clean tshirt instead?

Also, the whole crisp white shirt thing doesn’t work for me. Classic chic is all very well, but it’s too Nancy Reagan.

KreedKafer · 13/02/2024 11:15

I think if you'd just had their dick inside you, you should probably be past the point of worrying about the cleanliness of a shirt

LoobyDop · 13/02/2024 13:46

Ick isn’t logical 🤷🏼‍♀️

CroccyWoccy · 13/02/2024 17:01

I have to say, I am surprised by how many of you have wafted about in post-romp men’s shirts. I stand corrected, apparently people DO do this IRL and only some of you confessed it’s because you’re pretending you’re living in a romcom.

Shirts? No. Tshirts? Definitely. In fact I had quite an extensive collection of boyfriend shirts.Grin
