To think no-one in real life has ever walked around in a boyfriend's shirt the morning after?

Standard movie trope of morning after a romp. Woman wandering around in the man's work shirt making coffee and looking sexy.

Has anyone actually done this in real life? I've had my fair share of romps and this has definitely never come up. Maybe I never dated enough men who wore shirts?

I’m small and used to be petite- so could potentially have gotten away with the “look”
i did constantly “borrowed” hoodies from boyfriends and still use DH’s hoodies to lounge around
I would get it with a Tshirt
but the clean ironed work shirt they show in movies - that feels just as a movie cliche

ChorizoDog · 12/02/2024 15:29

I've done it.. love to wear his shirts the morning after!

MsAnnFrope · 12/02/2024 15:29

When I was young, slim and lovely and I dated rugby boys and rowers I did. Probably cos I’d seen the trope of it being sexy and I gave a shit about that kind of thing then.
mid 40s not as slim, still lovely I now steal DH T-shirts to sleep in. It’s not sexy 😂

WeeOrcadian · 12/02/2024 15:30

No sexy bod but I have pinched a shirt to nip to the kitchen in

Complete with wobbly bits, cellulite and pasty legs that could compete with milk bottles

iwannacoolrider · 12/02/2024 15:31

I used to do this with an ex.. he'd take me on dirty weekends and loved it when I wore his shirt the next morning.. I also loved prancing around like I was Julia Robert's... I really miss my 27 year old body!

I wear his clothes, but not his work shirts 🤣🤣

Same! Mine doesn’t work in an office so doesn’t wear shirts except for formal occasions, however I often wear his clothes to work 😂

SgtJuneAckland · 12/02/2024 15:34

Housemate at uni first year, first winter ball, his very petite, very attractive girlfriend did this the morning after, in his white shirt, even I thought she looked hot.
I used to wear ex's rugby shirts and rowing hoodie with impossibly tiny pyjama shorts, I wasn't nearly 40 with post childbirth hips then though. I do steal DH' dressing gown of doom sometimes

DD wears her boyfriend's shirts and hoodies all the time and looks stunning. Probably helps that he's a burly 6 ft 5 inches and she's very pretty.

If I wore DH's clothes I'd look like I was homeless.

How do you even know your daughters boyfriends exact height?

Teasie123 · 12/02/2024 15:36

I wear my hubbys jammy bottom's. They're far more comfy than mine.🤭🤭🤭

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 12/02/2024 15:36

Shirts yes, loads of times. Bedsheets, no.

Scottishskifun · 12/02/2024 15:40

😂 does stealing it after birth count?

Hospital was way too hot for my maternity clothes and I had to walk to neonatal needed something loose to chuck on which wasn't hot and easy to feed in! Also great for giving a bit of modesty with the pump!

Queenmaker · 12/02/2024 15:44

Who calls it a "romp" in 2024 except the Daily Mail?

blobby10 · 12/02/2024 15:50

I borrowed my DH shirt and a pair of boxer shorts once - I was very heavily pregnant, absolutely enormous belly and it was 30 degrees outside! They were the only items of clothing in the whole house that I (just about) fitted into.

Ginandjuice57884 · 12/02/2024 15:51

Clean T-shirt yes. Work shirt no.

Fionaville · 12/02/2024 15:55

Never. Even when I was young and slim. I never had a night of passion with my bra on either. I remember quietly getting up in the early hours to fix my makeup once though, then climbing back in the bed and pretending I'd woken up like that.

Gowlett · 12/02/2024 15:56

When I was in my 20s I always wanted to be the girl in couple pictures in women’s (girl’s) mags like Cosmo, where she’s wearing a cute cotton camisole & matching pants. Not looking sexy, but cute. And thin. And gorgeous. And he is too! Ditto the type of pics that used to be in J17 etc, of a girl in a bikini eating a slice of watermelon on the beach. Never felt that I quite cut it in my swimwear, but looking back now… I was actually cute. And thin. And gorgeous! Oh, well…

Cherryon · 12/02/2024 15:59

That’s what we did in our generation. YABU
They weren’t work shirts but big, soft, warm flannel shirts.
Yes I drank coffee wearing it, after OJ & vodka for a hair of the dog pick me up.

🥰

I got him to stand perfectly still outside at noon in strong sunlight, then measured his shadow against a perpendicular wall using a sextant.

Ghostlight · 12/02/2024 16:01

I did once after a one night stand, it was a white shirt and wasn't sweaty or anything.
But I am of the short, pale, boney build rather than the tanned sexy type.
I caught sight of myself in the bathroom mirror with my smudged mascara eyes and post sex birds nest hair and realised I looked like the half dressed corpse of a mad scientist.

I once had to wear a man’s very unsexy sports kit across town, because it was either that or do the walk of shame in a toga.

These days young people are wearing such garments out of choice, but twenty years ago oversized grey tracksuits and ugly trainers were a bad look.

Bookist · 12/02/2024 16:09

I have also done the walk of shame in a toga. You know, back when university used to be fun (and free).

Wasn’t free for me, sadly, but it was fun.

The only item of clothing I could fit into would be his socks (or dressing gown of doom).

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 12/02/2024 16:16

Never, the thought of wearing someone else's clothes makes me feel a bit icky. Apparently, men find it sexy, not for me though.
