To think XL Bulldog ban will/is turning into a massive farce?

Come the warmer weather as more people go out to the parks/walks/etc you will note the owners out there with unmuzzled XL dogs and mostly likely off their lead, both items are now against the law.

For any law to succeed it has to be enforced. To easily enforce the law it has to be clear and re XL dogs the law is clear as mud and the government is aware of this. As all sensible people know, we will get different cross-breeds of dogs who will be just as powerful as the XL dogs and this will be done to by-pass the law

AIBU to expect law enforcement to the letter all Bulldog-type dogs to be muzzled in public and on leads? (Those failing to do this are fined at the very least for every breach of the law)
Along with this, all dogs being on leads in public other than an enclosed/fenced area where dog owners choose to take their dogs and take a risk?

I'm very certain when Joe Public call the cops when witnessing a breach of the law as above where no one is at immediate risk, a call to the non-emergency number may not get you very far.

I am aware a dog is a man's best friend and I have witnessed this many times when out seeing clients when I worked. I felt uncomfortable with dogs but certain breeds are more passive and will just slowly approach you stand there for you to say hi, and possibly a small pat on the dog

I am also of the view that all lawbreakers who are owners of dogs should be fined at the very least and if their dog attacks another human or another dog, a mandatory jail term must be available.

Honestly, I feel for the dogs even though a lot of dogs make me feel uncomfortable, the cause is often the owner lacking the intelligence to control it or read or acknowledge the fact not everyone is comfortable with dogs.

The two dogs (pitbulls?) that got shot in London, Marshall and Millions, owned by a man banned from owning dogs. I know someone who lived where they roamed. People cats and dogs had been attacked on several occasions by them, the police knew him and the dogs. And what do the pitnutters do, set up petitions and hunt down the police who did their job by shooting dogs who were a serious risk to life to the public.

We need to get off this merry-go-round of creating new laws nobody has the time or inclination to enforce

Pitnutters / Pitmommies probably being on the edges of society in general appear to over-identify with their preferred aggressive breed type.

Anti - Social media has given them an echo chamber to make a fuss about Police defending the general public wether it be in U.K. or USA.

Marshall and Millions ‘s owner was already banned from keeping dogs, which isn’t uncommon when there is an incident involving attacks on children- or indeed a cruelty case involving pits.

My friend’s two children were attacked by a loose collarless Bull breed years ago - and it’s teenaged owner was banned at the time from keeping dogs.

Dog ownership as a whole needs far more control over it- But licences will only be bought by the responsible- the feckless breeding Luna and Brutus - in their back yard won’t be buying a licence.

There will be a lot of confusion come summer as there are tens of thousands of dogs in England and Wales that look like and have the capacity of XL bully dogs and seeing them in the warmer days when more of us go out for walks will just allow the law breakers to get away with it

The idiot that only ruled re XL bully dogs needs their head testing

We need robust rules about muzzling dogs in public, most of them and robust policing otherwise this new law is impotent just like our government
