Posting here and also Relationships.
Has anyone hired a private investigator to catch a cheating spouse? What were they able to do? And not do?

I nearly hired one and he was so wise on the phone and basically said to me if I had those suspicions that my relationship was in trouble anyway and to consider my options on that before confirming the booking. I did, got divorced and never looked back and saved myself PI fees!

Not personally but I know a couple people that did. They take as much info as possible about where the person might be, then they kind of lurk and take photos of the person going into somewhere with someone, or not etc. This was years ago. They can put trackers on people's cars and there might be more techy stuff with phones they can do, but a reputable one would not do anything illegal. I think there are some tactics where you could give the PI some details and he could potentially pretend to be/ log into someone's phone. Again, I am not sure about the law too much.
If it's a case of catching them going into a building/ meeting someone, then you don't even really need a PI, just a mate with patience who he won't recognise!

You don't need a PI. Track the car. Where the car goes, he goes.

Not me but I knew someone years ago who hired one for a suspected cheating husband. Her suspicions were right and she divorced him. Can't remember how the PI discovered it.

Oh it did did it? Nice bit of advertising there.

Op if your relationship is at the stage of needing a PI it's probably over.
