I’ve recently been searching for an nhs dentist (up to 30 miles radius) and no luck, they said I could be put on a waiting list which is 3 years

shall I say yes to that and go private in mean time? I can’t really afford it as for a check up and clean it was £154

You can see a NHS dentist anywhere in the country , if they are taking on. Unfortunately 90% of NHS dentists are not taking adults on.
Have you family elsewhere who could enquire near to them? Or expand your search radius.
