Is it because it’s February?? January seemed nicer, just feel like what is the point in life/the meaning and everyone looks so miserable
I’m not depressed and am a naturally optimistic/fairly happy person, but ffs..really forcing it a bit now, anyone else?

Ignore the nasty poster. Yes I feel a bit the same 😕

Itwasmeinthebox · 09/02/2024 22:57

It will feel very different in another 6 weeks x

ChristmasGutPunch · 09/02/2024 22:57

I'm about to enter week 8 of a non stop herpes outbreak despite being on the maximum dose of antivirals so yeah things are NOT GREAT.

Feel like I might lose my mind tbh.

Oh well. Solidarity with February so far not being ideal.

Bangwam1 · 09/02/2024 22:58

Yeah it’s awful. I’m terrible in winter

Bigoldmachine · 09/02/2024 23:01

I have felt like this last month and I like to imagine I’m a tree (bear with me I’m going somewhere with this I promise). At this point in winter a tree is literally just surviving - hanging on until spring, when there WILL be new shoots and leaves, the tree will be thriving again. If a tree can do it, we can too! Hang on in there!

(Also do you take Vitamin D supplement?)

Has to be the most random answers to a thread ever. Goats, herpes, and a deleted post. All from a seemingly harmless OP!

(sorry about the herpes and feeling like crap though 💐)

ChristmasGutPunch · 09/02/2024 23:05

Thanks, it's totally shit. Scared to look at my bum but need to check. I think I might just be like this for the rest of my life - it's only supposed to last half this time.

(The solidarity is for real - feeling crap sux)

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 09/02/2024 23:07

💐Sorry you're feeling low OP. I think it is the miserable, dull weather and all the viruses going around. Fingers crossed, everything will feel better soon x

Darker · 10/02/2024 00:10

This time of year can be miserable. I am lucky enough to have a garden and I make sure to look at the snowdrops and early daffodils when I’m feeling low. And I have a bunch of daffodils on my desk at work.

mrsfollowill · 10/02/2024 00:17

Always a miserable time of year Jan/Feb in the UK. Not too much longer- the nights are getting shorter again- was still just about daylight at nearly 5pm here in Yorks. March is always better- proper signs of Spring will be here soon.
I know loads of people who have gone to the Canaries in the last couple of weeks for a blast of sun and light and have decided that's my plan for next year.

Gettingbysomehow · 10/02/2024 00:20

I love this time of year because I get all my winter hobbies out, read all the books I never have time to read and cosy up with the cats in my electric blanket.
But this year has been rubbish, I had flu and pneumonia for the whole of January and felt I was going to die and the effects have lingered on into February.
