DH's hygiene

I told my husband that not covering his nose when he sneezes (including in the kitchen!) and not brushing his teeth at the start or end of the day (possibly sometimes in the middle of the day) is unhygienic, off-putting, and just gross. He is angry and says I'm "needling him." AIBU?

Covering his mouth is basic germ prevention

He very rarely brushes his teeth - occasionally during the day.

Assuming this isn’t new behaviour from him, you married him knowing he’s like that? The time to say something would have been at the start and if it’s a deal breaker, you should have walked away then. I mean it’s grim af but I can see why he feels bullied if the comments are 1) new and 2) constant. How come this hasn’t come
up earlier?

I’m not especially fussy about germs etc but jeez, covering your mouth when you sneeze feels like the bare minimum, doesn’t it? It’s basic stuff; you’re not asking much of him!

That’s just basic hygiene! Why are you putting up with him?

I raised exactly these points sbout "less than bare minimum expectations," and he just got angrier.

Eww yeah I’m sorry but your DH is gross. And I say that as someone who will admit to not always brushing their teeth after a night out 🙈 so I’m not a priss by any means, but to go a whole 24 hours without brushing them… yikes!

I couldn't even sleep in the same bed as someone who didn't brush their teeth. Morning breath is bad enough anyway!!!!! Do you have any form of intimate relationship??
