Later this year I will be taking an internal Australian flight and have the option of two airlines. I do not know anything about either airline and wondered if anyone could give me some info on the go pros and cons of both Virgin Australia and Quantus. Quantus costs a bit more but not much

Qantas is the national airline. It's like flying BA.
Virgin Aus is more like an EasyJet. We've flow them and had no issues. Is it a fligh without connecting flights? Eg you land in City spend some time there, then want to visit somewhere else? Or are you landing in city, and immediately taking the internal flight? I'd book that as a through ticket if so.

No real difference imo. Ime in Australia checking in for most flights was a diy operation regardless of airline and no real difference in service.

We did quite a few internal flights in Aus in 2022. We used Qantas for all but one. They were fine, ran on time, check in for internal flights was simple. The other flight was with Jetstar. They are like the Ryanair of Australia and the only delay we had was with that flight.

Qantas.

qantas not quantus!

they are both fine but Qantas being the more established, may have a more generous baggage allowance, if that is important. You probably have to pay for drinks etc on both these days.

Yeah I think I will go with Virgin Autralia
