to think that just because I ring and ask DH if we have a spare large amount of cash........

......it doesn't mean I have just crashed the car again!!!!!!!

Just because I have had three car accidents, and written off 4 cars, none of which have been my fault, or even parlty my fault, it does NOT mean that is all I do, and all I need large amounts of cash for.....

We have a sick bug, DH is at work, and the TV downstairs has just blown up.

(well, more of a fizzle pop TBH, but still no picture).

Rang DH to see if we have any spare money as we will need something big to replace, and that was his first thing to say...

"you not crashed again have you?"

Well, you can see he reasoning for thinking it! Did he say it in a jokey way or was he serious?

Freckle · 21/03/2008 11:56

Let him think that and then, when you spring "we need a new tv" on him, he'll think he's getting off lightly .

Btw, how did you write off 4 of your cars in 3 accidents? Were you driving two at one time??

purpleduck · 21/03/2008 12:01

LOL!

Sorry, I think its a but funny!!

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 12:01

nah, he was joking.....I think.

and twas three big accidents on the roads, other person's fault's (and cars written of thro damage), and the 4th was a three car shunt in tesco car park on a very rainy dark pre-xmas eve and a car went into me shunting me into a car in front with a tow-bar which went thro the front grill of my car going into the water thingy causing £2000 of damage and the car wasn;t even worth that much!!!!

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 12:02

hmmm.......am not being unreasonable, am NOT......

maybe a little???

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 21/03/2008 12:14

He'll be fine if its money for a new TV anyway. Men love things like that.

purpleduck · 21/03/2008 12:15

I think maybe I can ALMOST see his POV

He will be relieved that it is just TV

May as well buy a HOOOOGE one!!!

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 12:24

e has been hinting for a while that he wants a HUUUUUUUGE flat screen one to fis=x to the wall.....

now see, if it had blown when he was here alone last night, I may have just accused him of doing it on purpose to get his new TV!!!

OP posts:
edam · 21/03/2008 12:25

Can't help a little at you. Not unreasonable of dh to jump to that conclusion! But I can see why you are pissed off when none of it has been your fault and it isn't the bloody car this time.

Never mind, go shopping for a plasma or LCD and splash your cash!

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 12:32

not enjoying the thought of everyone laughing at me, I want sympathy damn it and to be told I am not being unreasonable!!!!!!

and grrrr too, as this new TV will end up being DH's new toy, as were each of the new cars.

I want a new toy

May be it can be repaired. We just got ours repaired.

Judy1234 · 21/03/2008 13:30

Also why don't you know what money the family has? it's not 1880. It's 2008. Can't you just go into the on line banking and check?

MissyTheFlouncer · 21/03/2008 13:36

thats hilarious (sorry)

poor tv!

MissyTheFlouncer · 21/03/2008 13:37

were you looking for a new car because you wrote off another or just a new car?

blueshoes · 21/03/2008 14:09

xenia, where do you go to find out whether you can get your TV repaired? Ours just blew.

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 14:12

any and all cars in our family for the last 8yrs have been got because of the previous one being written off, not just because we fancied a change.

and xenia, I do know the money situation, but we are planning a new bathroom and also need a new kettle, new CD player for the kitchen, new alarm clock for the bedroom, new video player (altho we have needed a new one of them for 3yrs now since a then 2yr old DS2 thought the old one was thirsty and fed it apple juice), and also a new water filter as I dropped the other one the other day and broke the lid.

we need lots of new stuff, and trying to prioritise (sp?) is why I need to ask! also, he has the cards on him, and I have sick kids, so not able to just go and sort it out easily.

Oh, and I am not clue'd up on the online banking lark, so no help there either.

one thing.......they are all playing nicely (well, when not groaning that is), so am thinking that TV going bang might be a good thing......

OP posts:
Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 14:14

might query the fixing it tho, as DH is waitng on my compensation from the last but one accident to buy himself a mahooosive flat screen TV, which we just don;t have the money for right now, so would be kind of waste buying one today when we may be getting money in the next couple months anyway.......

Judy1234 · 21/03/2008 15:02

I rang our local TV shop who used to repair them. They don't but they gave me the number of a company that did and then came, took it away , fixed it and returned it a few days later.

blueshoes · 21/03/2008 18:12

thanks, xenia. Will check my local yellow pages.

CodofCodHall · 21/03/2008 20:05

Snurk. Yo cant blame him though can uoy?

yomellamoHelly · 21/03/2008 22:05

I can understand why he asked though! Ours went fizz pop (no picture) and was repaired (albeit for about £100 - we're in London), so actually it wasn't as horendous as it could have been. That was about a year ago.

Psychomum5 · 21/03/2008 22:08

well......we're ok right now, got the one down from upstairs and DH is happier, as are the DC's.

still irritated tho!!!!
