To return school shoes?

Bought DD11 some new shoe shoes on 11 Nov 23 from Schuh £35.00. She got home tonight and complained her socks are wet. In inspecting the shoe, the inside sole has pretty much collapsed on both feet (hard plastic squared sole is all you can feel and under the sole it’s beggining to split.

AIBU to return them? Would you expect school shoes to last longer than 10 weeks? (8 weeks if you take off school holidays!)

Return. See what they say.

I'd do it quickly as I'm pretty sure that they are ment to last atleast 12 weeks

I can’t believe shoes are not meant to last more than a couple of months!

It used to be 90 days they had to last. It sounds like a visible fault so hopefully easier to have sorted.

I had to do this with my DD's school shoes from Schuh.
They took them back no problem and even found me the receipt number online as I didn't have the original receipt.

They were brilliant and exchanged them without question. Definitely go back.

We bought in August, started wearing in September and returned them at the end of November.

Update - they exchanged them, no questions asked.

Even my daughter's £14 Asda school shoes have lasted 2.5 terms! Id expect longer from a decent pair!

I would return them, they should last much longer than that. I've bought very cheap shoes that I don't mind being ruined (e.g. for gardening) and they've lasted years, I'd expect more from decent school shoes.
