Apparently they have a big build at the end of September/beginning of October. I am due 29th Sept.

He has now mentioned twice that he would like to go.

I asked him which was more important, work or seeing the birth of his child. He said obviously his childs birth but he would still like to go?!

GGRRRRRRRR

no way jose! I would be v mad at this!

WombFor1More · 21/03/2008 09:32

It's not even so much that I might go into labour but I also have 3 other small children and don't really fancy being left on my own, due to drop and running myself ragged!

Or paticularly relish the thought of giving birth alone as our last lo was born in 3hrs start to finish, mw didn't turn up in time and dp delivered her

Not something I want to do without anyone here!!

hi wf1m have you sorted thing out now?

belgo · 21/03/2008 13:04

I know someone who missed the birth of his twins because he was on a business trip. I would not have been happy about that.

BitLessTiredNow · 21/03/2008 13:23

I would go up the wall if it was me

franke · 21/03/2008 13:24

I think given you have 3 other kids and the possibility of a short labour then yanbu.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2008 13:31

How long would he be away for? My dh works abroad every week, and was planning to come home on dd's due date, which I was just about ok with.

jellybelly25 · 21/03/2008 13:40

goodness, you really should make sure there is someone there, even if its not him. Rather not have one of your other dcs deliver the baby for you! Perhaps the novelty of birthing wore off when he had to do it himself! Am amazed though, well done...

belgo · 21/03/2008 13:52

I've just remembered another friend who's husband missed the birth. Baby born at 39 weeks while the father was on the plane coming back from working in China. Because my friend knew he was on his way back, it didn't cause a problem, and she had family support.

I think the problem would be if you felt very bitter and resentful if he goes on the trip without your blessing.

YANBU the last few weeks are knackering and with 3 other dc to care for you need him to be home in the evening and give you a break
