Hi
my mum 55 has severe depression suspected autism stubborn weight issues over eating , no friends or family here except her 2 kids—-they all live in Florida.

she has explosive anger

she’s not a native speaker has been here about 30y from Carribean her married life hasn’t been great and she’s dealt with emotional abuse from her very cold father who abandoned her family although they reconciled
she lost her mother 3 years ago to Covid and wails at night constantly unable to get over it

my dad is telling me if I called her everyday she would cheer up more and that I should find even 5 min during the day to call her

I know when her mood is better she’s likely to be more pleasant with my dad and make his life easier at home

he doesn’t care about the stuff I’ve done for her like calling doctor for her to make her appointment (then she doesn’t answer phone to them

I have criticised her smoking and don’t like visiting as their house smells even though she smokes outside she carries the Smell back in her clothes

she overdosed a few months ago on sleeping pills she gets online after lying saying to my dad she needed money for garden supplies she woke up in hospital
yelling and affected the care of other patients

I have asd and anxiety and so I’m not particularly affectionate and I can go weeks without speaking to them and be fine

im also a new parent and so im feeling a bit overwhelmed im under mental health myself and I’ve told my care team that my parents stress me

she was under crisis team months ago but always fobs them off

My dad said he wouldn’t care if I never called him but I should call my mum as she cares
he said another mental health crisis is coming

Im sleep deprived and feel he only tells me to call her he doesn’t call my brother and tell him to call her

so some advice
