To think my cat has cracked the work life balance totally

So yesterday Sunday....

My 14 year old boy cat woke me up at 7am for breakfast ....after which he had a slow patrol around the garden inspecting his territory.

Back in about 8am for a lot of cuddles and a brush which he loves

Hopped on to a heated faux fur throw on bed till 1pm

Woke up at 1pm when roast chicken for Sunday lunch was out the oven

Squealed loudly until he got breast , leg and some skin

Ate it by dragging from kitchen to rug in dining area

After that ignored all attempts by visitors for lunch trying to say hello and headed back to heated throw where he remained till 6pm when time for dinner and lik e lix and dreamies

After dinner sat on lap for petting till he decided it was bed time

Love him dearly but he has life sussed!

Thing is, humans require a LOT of training by cats to become suitable cat staff, so they actually earn their leisure time. Also, look at the vast amount of security detail they have to do, as evidenced on this thread.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff. That's the basic truth

If only they had opposable thumbs..

Trulyme · 29/01/2024 19:49

If reincarnation is real then I’m coming back as a pampered cat.

Lots of sleeping, eating and then cuddles when I’m in the mood sounds like absolute heaven.

Love the photos ❤️❤️

He's gorgeous, and definitely has you well under control. Our black cat has spent much of today being fussed by us and biting my knee when she felt she was being ignored.

Is he ear tipped?

Yes, I have had him 11 years before that he was a street cat and considered feral I think they call it. So cat charity did a TNR on him but then decided he was friendly so asked me to look after him.....and he took to living as a pet immediately!

I had the evil glare this morning when she realised I wasn't going to work and had to, shock horror, share the bed with me.

I love it when they do that. "Street cat, me? Whatever made you think that? I'm a bed cat". We've had a lot of ferals and they all do much the same - they have us wrapped round their little paws.

Yeah same here I don't make the bed the days I go into the office for fear of disturbing him

Then I pick up neighbours dog for a walk she always says don't forget you are in charge ...I'm saying OK then!

I was just coming on to say that he must have had a rough start in life and a feral past, given the clipped ear.

My last cat, aged 4 months and already pregnant, had been dumped, in a box, outside a shelter.

Within days of landing at my chateau she had acclimatised to living the life of a pampered princess.

It's clearly innate, in their genes, and fine-tuned over centuries of cohabitation with their service humans.

I just feel grateful I’m allowed to live in the house , seeing as it belongs to him 🐈‍⬛
If I am not quick enough getting the cat milk and treats out at 2:30pm after his nap, I face the screaming and angry cat glare 😂😂

My cat was all about WFH before it became a thing.

Yes poor boy did have a rough start I think , which is why now I laugh when I see him doing exactly.as he pleases at all times. Love him dearly and he is very affectionate!

I have a very diligent ‘assistant’. We start our day with breakfast and then head to the home office to work. We’ll stop for lunch which usually involves some cuddles. I think he’s signed up to the neighbourhood watch scheme and takes his duties seriously a couple of afternoons a week, before coming back to work. Here he is after a hard day..

Dogs owners train their pet

Cat owners are trained by their pet

Erm, unless you have a dog who was trained by a cat.

Strangest thing I’ve said on the internet.
