I dreamed a dream

Definitely has to be one of the most beautiful songs in any West End Show! I have watched Les Mis over thirty years and my Mum adored Les Mis and we had ‘I dreamed a dream’ at her funeral.
Does anyone else have favourite west end songs that reduce them to tears ?

I sung as long as he needs me at my wedding. Found out he was an alcoholic shortly after and divorced him. Still like the song though!

She used to be mine, from Waitress.
It doesn't make me cry but by god, I relate to every single word of it.

This one, and Bring Him Home from Les Mis

I love Les Mis, brings back a lovely memory of me and my dad sneaking off one Weds afternoon to go to the matinee. One of the few times in my adult life that we did anything like this.

I had Bring him home played at his funeral. He loved it because my DH was the son he never had.

I can never go and see it live again

The Perfect Year (from Sunset Boulevard) always leaves me 'needing a moment'. I always make a point of listening to both that song and ABBA's Happy New Year just before and after the new year - plus throughout the year lots too!

The latter always makes me nostalgically sad, hearing them wonder what life will be like in ten years' time (from then) - which itself is now 34 years ago.

Had to listen to it again as I had the Susan Boyle version in my head (although she can sing God love her hers was too talent show for me). This beautiful performance from Ruthie Henshall is authentic Les Mis.

Wouldn't say l cry but l love Conskder Yourself from Oliver! Just how the boys and Fagin accept him into their clan! Oh and Be Back Soon especially sung by Ron Moody

Ron Moody and Jack Wild, has there been a better double act in a film?

Fagin: Yes? Young man? And do I have the honour of your acquaintance? [Dodger shows him a wallet he has just stolen].
Fagin : Lined?
Dodger : Only the best.

"I'm reviewing, the situation"

The way Moody says "Lined" cracks me up everytime.
