You’re still you but you have to live in a fictional tv show, which one and why?

I was thinking of something involving utterly fabulous lifestyles such as Gossip Girl but then realised I'd still have to be broke and old enough to be their parents... now I'm stuck!

ghostyslovesheets · 27/01/2024 21:03

I loved Loudermilk - managed to be really poignant without ever being mawkish or sentimental.

I came on to say Northern Exposure! Loved that show.

I have the box set. Need a re-watch. It just seemed so laid back

My username tells you I’m already in Father Brown ! When I’m not attending parties with unsuitable but dashing cads that Aunt Fliss doesn’t approve of, I’m helping Father Brown find the real killer as the utterly inept Inspector Mallory always gets the wrong man !! Always find time for some of Mrs M’s prize winning Strawberry scones too !!
For a change of scenery though I think I’d chose Ghosts ! Still a Stately home , although Button House needs a bit of work to bring up to the standards of Montegue ! Be a great place for a party though !!

BeachedOff · 27/01/2024 21:09

Bridgerton for me.

Itsactuallywindy · 27/01/2024 21:09

The Jetsons. The beautiful house and all the fab gadgets

All2Well · 27/01/2024 21:10

This is Us (the 70s version)
Virgin River

longtompot · 27/01/2024 21:10

its tricky isn’t it! There’s so many tv shows I’d love to be in if I were a member of the family or had the money / house / job but just as me it’s a lot harder!

Ghosts

Hortonhearsawhat · 27/01/2024 21:24

Madame Blanc Mysteries. Judith and Jeremy would be fun to have as friends and the weather is always good.

Fitbakesaremysaviour · 27/01/2024 21:24

I wouldn't mind being in Thomas the Tank engine, living on the lovely little island of Sodor with kind hearted, talking trains.

Or, The West Wing.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 27/01/2024 21:25

Definitely The Big Bang Theory

SunaipāUrufu · 27/01/2024 21:26

town called eureka, all those scientific developments

Edited

But I want to be Bunty! 🙃

If I have to be me though I'd be a retired village school teacher living in a lovely cottage with my dogs. I'd fit right in.

FuckingAnnoyed · 27/01/2024 21:29

Anyone remember the series Ed? The lawyer that had a bowling alley in a small, quirky town- I pick there.

Special mention to One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek - think they were filmed in the same place and it's beautiful.

TheMarzipanDildo · 27/01/2024 21:30

Midsomer Murders. I fancy my chances.

quietlycontent · 27/01/2024 21:31

Virgin River fancy a try at beautiful scenery and a new country

Honestmary · 27/01/2024 21:33

Absolutely Death in Paradise, I’d set up my own Funeral Home, I already work in one so that would be easy and with their death rate I’d make a fortune

whiteroseredrose · 27/01/2024 21:34

Another one for the Gilmour Girls as I could get away with being quirky. Or maybe Friends for the coffee shop.

G40NEW · 27/01/2024 21:34

Greys anatomy would be my first choice, I recently started working in a hospital after a career change and although im in HR rather than surgeries it is, to my great disappointment, nothing like greys but I think I would fit in
my second choice would be sex and the city but I could not afford to keep up with their lifestyles

JaneyGee · 27/01/2024 21:38

This Country. I just love Kerry and Kurtan and the vicar. I love the cosy feeling of village life as well.

Spaced. Don’t know if anyone remembers this - it starred Simon Pegg. Again, I loved the characters and want to hang out with them.

GeorgeSmileysSpecs · 27/01/2024 21:39

@JaneyGee Yes, Spaced was awesome. Loved Mike!

Strokethefurrywall · 27/01/2024 21:39

Modern Family

RenoDakota · 27/01/2024 21:40

Doc Martin.
Was always my comfort and go-to when I was going through a hard time.
