You’re still you but you have to live in a fictional tv show, which one and why?

This or possibly Father Brown although there are quite a lot of murders. I love the aesthetic.

Ooh yes, Father Brown is set in a lovely era

Can we have a film/TV adaptation? Because I'd say any Agatha Christie for the same reason as Father Brown.
At the other end of the scale , TBBT because I want an apartment in the building and the gang as ny friends!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2024 13:32

Not ever ever ever The Walking Dead .
In the first five minutes I'd have thrown myself into the zombie mob and said "Feck , I ain;t running , just kill me now"

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/01/2024 13:36

Ooh yes, Father Brown is set in a lovely era and better than the actual 50s. Kembleford has an unexpected number of black and Asian residents and all live together in perfect harmony as it should be. Nobody is very poor unless its for the puposes of a story and it generally ends happily. You would have to be Catholic because there doesn't appear to be any other option other than the occasional weird cult that sets up but Father Brown seems very relaxed and non-judgememtal.

Life on Mars. I'd love to go back to 1973.

Have you even watched Life on Mars?? Its broad premise is that 1973 was dreadful.

It was.

Ooh ooh the durrells! I want to wear sailor trousers, wide brimmed hats and sit at a table in the sea to cool off eating my dinner!!

SamuelDJackson · 28/01/2024 15:33

Miss Fischers murder mysteries, or Downton abbey just for the 20s/30s clothes and aesthetic. Though not as a downtrodden maid or murder victim

With your alcoholic mother? Sorry, that was the true story, the TV show looked idyllic.

If I had lived then I would definitely have been the maid as my grandmother was. She did seem to have fond memories though so she must have had a good employer.

I've watched it at least 20 times. I'm sure there are places I think are dreadful that other people like.

Mrs Brown's Boys.

I'd be the one they roll their eyes at who always ends up buying Agnes's drink in the pub and trying to persuade Hiraly to get pissed with us Grin

What we do in the Shadows. Provided I could share a coffin with Nandor the Relentless.

Still Game.
I'd love to live in Craiglang and hang about with Jack and Victor.

Another vote for Teachers.

Red Dwarf would be fun. For a while. Not millions of years though.

Everybody Loves Raymond.

I would probably murder my mother in law.

Another vote for Detectorists.

I binged all 3 series after recently discovering it, and it’s just the most gorgeous show. It perfectly portrays the beauty of ordinary life.
