We are considering upgrading our very battered sofa, looking at spending circa £1800 on a 3 and 2 seater.

Im confused about the ‘sofa insurance’. We have home insurance including accidental damage, AIBU in thinking if I purchase the all singing all dancing sofa insurance I’m just paying for cover twice?

Happy to be educated, as I can’t weigh this up!

Yeah, you don't need it. And the furniture store likely get a huge commission if they sell it.

Yep, I’d not buy it if you’ve got accidental damage cover on your home insurance.

Thank you! The sales assistant did look at me like I was wild when I said I wouldn’t be purchasing it 😂 good sales technique I suppose, made me question myself anyway!
