Not new news I know. It's highly unlikely that if you were being sent into high security prisons to work alone with men who had committed the sort of crimes against women that this man had, you wouldn't know what he was inside for, but even if you didn't know he bludgeoned a lone woman to death in a sexually motivated murder, wtf are you doing having sex with prisoners anyway?

What on earth goes on inside the heads of women who have sex with people like this in high security prisons?

Innocent victim, or fully aware of what she was doing? I mean honestly, what the actual fuck?

Well if there are Maxine Peake’s in this world who are not themselves paedos but can support a monster to abuse kids then it’s not surprising that there are women out there who don’t mind sleeping with someone like this guy…

I’m also 100% certain that Maxine Peake doesn’t support peadophiles or murderers. Maxine Carr however

Maxine peake? The actress?

😂😂😂 Sorry - I meant Maxine Carr…

And sorry to Maxine Peake who is a great actress and not the accomplice to some awful child abduction…

Bex5490 · 27/01/2024 17:36

Her episode of black mirror was pretty shit though 🤷🏽‍♀️

How on earth did he get to be alone in a room with any woman? Massive failing in the prison.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/01/2024 17:49

Absolutely mad. I worked in a men's prison medical centre for 7 years and there was no way I was having sex with any of that lot. Prison is hardly conducive to romance.

Hont1986 · 27/01/2024 17:52

One of the worst things about this is that he can now paint himself as a victim of sexual assault, because obviously a prisoner cannot give a meaningful consent to a guard/figure of authority.

I am frequently alone in rooms with male prisoners. Its kind of the nature of my job. However, I make very sure that I am close to the alarm bell, and that the prisoner is not between me and the door.

If the prisoner is flagged as Risk To Females and/or No Lone Working, I make sure I am NOT in a room on my own with them. Everyone who has prisoner contact is made aware of those flags.

ThePoshUns · 27/01/2024 18:00

I wouldn't have thought that his index offence would allow him to be in a room alone with a female worker , especially as not a guard she would t have any appointments

maltesefiction · 27/01/2024 18:04

This killer should have no contact with anyone. How is this even allowed?

Bobsledgirl · 27/01/2024 18:11

I used to work in the criminal justice system. This stuff is more common than you’d think.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 27/01/2024 18:16

There are always people who get off on the power imbalance - same as men having sex with women in womens prisons, but we are all more used to that I think.

A prisoner needs to be marked as no lone worker/lone female worker.

Never underestimate how manipulative men like these are. They're very skilled and play the long game.

That's not how it works

Honestly people on this thread have no clue!

She wasn't a prison guard. She may have been e.g. a visiting teacher, or other type of contractor, which is a much different power structure (and potential level of savvy or training) to a member of custody staff. I'm pretty sure there was an AMA recently with a volunteer befriender who said they don't get told the prisoner's crimes, although due to the nature of the prison they knew that they were very serious crimes including pedophilia - it's possible that she may not have known.

It was a room that locked from the inside? So it could have been him who locked the room and not her. People in dangerous situations don't always shout out for help: freeze and fawn are both examples of stress responses when the primal brain takes over; logic and thinking literally get short circuited.

She may have known his crimes and been a consenting partner. But I'd rather reserve judgement until I heard her side of the story.
