Not new news I know. It's highly unlikely that if you were being sent into high security prisons to work alone with men who had committed the sort of crimes against women that this man had, you wouldn't know what he was inside for, but even if you didn't know he bludgeoned a lone woman to death in a sexually motivated murder, wtf are you doing having sex with prisoners anyway?

What on earth goes on inside the heads of women who have sex with people like this in high security prisons?

Men are capable of seriously hurting women and girls so in hostile or sensitive environments sex segregation is best i think.

In regards to theatres there was a huge scandal last year? Where men were sexually assaulting female surgeons whilst trying to do their bloody job! So yes, sex segregation everywhere is much better for women, and in this prison case, men as well.

There was a prison worker who did an AMA not so long ago and she said it's quite common for prison workers to get involved with inmates.

I work in this type of environment. There are a few staff who truly believe what comes out of prison residents mouths. They think as they have completed the training that they are savvy and know it all. When I manage these women they really think they know their offender partner better than us, that they know about safeguarding so can keep themselves safe.

How dreadful for the family.

I know a woman who is married to a man that served time for raping his 10 year old sister when he was a young adult. I can't get my head round it. She seems relatively normal and is not unattractive, she wouldn't have been desperate for attention.

This woman wasn't a prison officer, though. I think she was a nurse, although I am not 100% of that.

It's been proven time and again that having female staff in male establishments improves prisoners' behaviour. There are thousands of female officers, teachers, drug workers, health care staff, psychologists working in prisons, who are responsible, normal people and wouldn't dream of giving a prisoner a blow job in the cleaning cupboard. Unfortunately some individuals make themselves vulnerable through various means, and these vile stories are the result.

I knew a young female officer who fell for a prisoner, and actually believed his nonsense, to the point where she left the prison service so she could "be with him". He promptly removed her number from his phone list and put in for a prison transfer. He wasn't the slightest bit interested in her as a person, he just saw her as someone a bit naive that he could corrupt. She threw away her career and her reputation amongst her peers, for that total loser.

I get this is probably the attitude with some of these who get involved with offenders, and as Pp said , some are very convincing etc. But, the thing with this deviant is that there was footage of him that night preying on young women, following them - just waiting for a victim. It's as clear as day.

The article is clear she wasn't a prison officer and I've been careful to avoid that assumption too. Regardless of role, what really concerns me is that any woman in any working capacity in a high security prison would be left alone long to have sex with someone who has committed such a horrific act against a lone woman. It isn't too far a stretch to say that she could very easily have been found dead. He does afterall have a rather unhealthy sexual deviation toward sexual violence against women.

OP, I think you need to take a deep dive into the romance novel genre. Having sex with a violent man is one of the most common female fantasies.

Actual murderers and rapists in prison, if they are at all known to the public, get all kinds of mail from women outside, ones they've never met.

Years ago I saw a study done by an anthropologist (IIRC) who found that having killed someone actually increased a man's attractiveness to women.
