bp - 111?

My bp is 180/69. Internet suggests to call emergency, a&e are going to tell me F off right? Feel a bit sick and headache

111?

180/69 is quite high. I would suggest trying to get an appointment with your GP or if that's impossible then yes, call 111. Do you feel unwell? If so, you could take yourself to A&E but like you say, they may be quite dismissive.

Do you have a BP machine at home? Do it three times and get the best reading. Any headache or visual disturbances?

I don’t know that A&E will be dismissive. I was sent there recently by 111 after having three migraine auras in 24 hours (because I was on medication that could cause increased intercranial pressure). My blood pressure turned out to be 180/120 when I got there and while it wasn’t panic stations, they certainly took it seriously and I was seen quickly.

I should say, I had a heart attack a few years ago when I was 39. But they don't know what caused despite investigating. I am normal weight and fit, so its odd

Given your history I would definitely try 111, you may have a virus which will spike your BP for a day or two.

Yes I’d contact 111 for advice considering your medical history and you feel unwell.

Definitely call 111, there's no reason not to!

How many times have you taken your BP?

Sit quietly for ten minutes and take it 3x disregarding the first reading. 5 mins between each reading.

Then call 111 if the reading is high given your history.

Hope your OK OP. If you take your BP three times, it invariably goes down. Don't move in between. Don't eat or drink anything.
