To not wash the inside of my vagina?

Secretname123 · 25/01/2024 10:32

First AIBU so please be nice! There is a huge debate going on on twitter where people are horrified that some women wear tampons in the shower (it seems to be the majority of the many women responding to the tweets who are horrified). They claim it’s unsanitary because then you can’t wash inside your vagina. I thought we weren’t supposed to do this? I’m sure I had this drummed into me as a child. I never have and have never had an infection. Have I been doing it wrong all these years?!

@TallulahBetty know, i was refrerring to the use of soap, rather than just water.

I mean, I definitely give the opening a thorough clean with water, no soapy products, when I'm in the shower. I don't jet wash the fucker, but rinse.. yes. Also never had a yeast infection.

I don't jet wash the fucker 🤣🤣🤣😳

I need nothing else from the internet today 🏆

@JellyComb

Spooky! I was just reading this thread thinking awww I remember when I was able to use mine as squirty bath toy. Glory days 🤣

Fannyannie · 25/01/2024 11:35

WTF

theemmadilemma · 25/01/2024 11:35

Douche is highly popular in the states as far I know, I mean much more widely sold as a product in chemists than I've ever seen here.

Horribly unhealthy. If you have to poke the soap in, it probably shouldn't be going in there. 😂

Screwballs · 25/01/2024 11:36

TulipVictory · 25/01/2024 10:48

I've always given mine a swirl up there with shower gel and rinsed out with the shower head 🤷🏼‍♂️

Whut?! I have literally never done anything like that. That is insane.

Lollypop701 · 25/01/2024 11:36

im wondering how you clean a vagina??? What have they got… bottle washers??? Ouch.. can just picture someone flinging towel over their shoulder and picking up a bottle washer now 🙈😂

To not wash the inside of my vagina?
redheadsaregreat · 25/01/2024 11:37

Vulva including all the creases with soap and water.
Inside the vagina nope

Fundays12 · 25/01/2024 11:37

Lol cracking up with laughter at that don't jet wash the fucker comment 😂😂.

CaramelMac · 25/01/2024 11:30

No, and I don’t wash my towels after one use, I only change my bed sheets when I remember and I only brush my teeth once a day and I’ve not caught any strange diseases and I don’t smell (I know I don’t because my boss has recently had to tell someone on our team they do smell and he’d have no problems telling me the same if I did)

Teeth is the only thing that surely is a must? Morning and night, like literally doesnt hurt/is only a good thing?!

"Vaginas, like Cats and Ovens, are self-cleaning."

Can't remember where I read this but I love it...

Good grief, I really hope the inside of my vagina is nothing like the inside of my oven!

YouJustDoYou · 25/01/2024 11:38

Urgh, it;s Twitter, they'll argue over everything on there.

Twitter /X is a waste of life.

Anyone who gets involved in nonsense on it needs to stop.

It's a toxic cesspit most of the time.

What is meant by “inside”?

I’ll wash my labia using the shower-head. Only with water though. Never any shower gels or the like.

I have to admit it’s a bit of a problem when I stay somewhere without a detachable shower.

Is water not running down your body sufficiently to give it a smush about down there?! I have never had to take the shower down to clean myself, a flannel/my hands with some suds is perfectly sufficient

Margarita45 · 25/01/2024 11:41

These are the same women that are telling us to mop our walls aren’t they?

porridgeisbae · 25/01/2024 11:43

You're right, except of course when they take the tampon out the vaginal entrance will be ever so slightly manked up again, so it's better to shower without one perhaps.

I used to use a bit of soap up there, but I have an upper vaginal cyst and I think that could be how I got it. So yes, don't do it.

SaffronSpice · 25/01/2024 11:44

Some confusion on this thread

‘Outside bits’ = vulva
’inside bits’ = vagina

That wouldn't work for me, I don't think it gets in the crucial areas.

Kittylala · 25/01/2024 11:44

If you wear it in the shower it will absorb water and feel heavy.
Also give yourself a sweep with the index finger and hook out the heamorages making their exit - saving yourself clogging a tampon that morning.

CoupDeTheatre · 25/01/2024 11:45

God these threads are getting tedious. Same thread, same answers all the time.

KreedKafer · 25/01/2024 11:46

fulgrate · 25/01/2024 10:38

Are they men?

They won't be men. They will be American women. America is fucking insane when it comes to what's perceived as necessary hygiene. Most men in America are circumcised as babies 'for hygiene' and 'douching' is really common for women there. I've seen conversations where a lot of (not all, but a lot) of American women responding have insisted that it's gross to have sex unless you have both showered immediately beforehand.

FuckinghellthatsUnbelievable · 25/01/2024 11:47

Of course you don’t need to wash the inside. I do use soap on the outside but only because I’m not as continent as I used to be.

Theyarehere · 25/01/2024 11:47

Good Grief! Honestly I cannot imagine an actual woman posting this kind of nonsense.
