To not wash the inside of my vagina?

Secretname123 · 25/01/2024 10:32

First AIBU so please be nice! There is a huge debate going on on twitter where people are horrified that some women wear tampons in the shower (it seems to be the majority of the many women responding to the tweets who are horrified). They claim it’s unsanitary because then you can’t wash inside your vagina. I thought we weren’t supposed to do this? I’m sure I had this drummed into me as a child. I never have and have never had an infection. Have I been doing it wrong all these years?!

Actually a bit embarrassed for you now. Maybe learn about women's bodies before you try to tell us how they work? Better still, don't bother as I get the feeling that you are quite enjoying the topic and the attention.

Edited

Not really. I'm replying to those who tag me. If they stopped tagging me, I'd stop responding. Obviously.

'Learn about women's bodies'?.Get over yourself, love. I'm not the one afraid to wash mine! 😂😂

No mate you really haven't. FFS. 🙄

Tbf there are loads of stupid men who think that women can 'hold in' period blood - wasn't there a thread on this quite recently?

Edited

Ah yes, because you know me better than I know myself.🙄

I obviously don't mean stop it completely, just if it starts flowing as you get out of the shower. It is possible to stop the flow momentarily to sort yourself out.

Madness that I've had to explain that.

How do you stop it?

Truebee · 26/01/2024 21:21

@Jumpingthruhoops u cannot stop yourself bleeding 😆 no one is pissed off, you're just making yourself look stupid

Not really. 'Stupid' is people thinking they know me better than I know myself. I can and I have stopped my flow momentarily.

Also, would love an example of NOT pissed off!

Truebee · 26/01/2024 21:48

@Jumpingthruhoops go on then.. how do you stop it momentarily? its already in your vaginal canal and coming out, unless you have a trap door fanny you can't miraculously seal yourself up to prevent a liquid coming out of your vaginal opening.

Jumpingthruhoops · 26/01/2024 21:51

TheDevilGun · 26/01/2024 21:45

How do you stop it?

With a towel... cross my legs... engage my pelvic floor... or good old-fashioned gravity (lay on the bed post shower with my legs up until I'm dry, yes, very glam!)

It's perfectly possible to do and never once had blood 'everywhere'.

Truebee · 26/01/2024 21:54

this needs to be made into a sketch 😆

nonumbersinthisname · 26/01/2024 21:56

No matter how diligently you may perform your pelvic floor exercises, there is no sphincter at the entrance to the vagina so no way of stopping any liquid running down the vagina. Just like I can’t stop my nose running.

i mean it isn’t as if those of us who have suffered the misfortune of a flood haven’t instinctively tried and miserably failed as we’ve trudged off to the loo.

TheDevilGun · 26/01/2024 21:58

Pelvic floor no. Using a towel or crossing your legs isn't stopping it, it's just blocking it. Much easier to have a tampon or a moon cup in, then you wouldn't need to do either

Not a 'trap door fanny' or 'miraculous' just fairly basic stuff.

At the risk of providing TMI, I stop it the same way I stop DH semen coming out en route to the toilet after DTD. Now you'll no doubt tell me I can't do this either!! 😂😂

nonumbersinthisname · 26/01/2024 22:05

Just going to the loo? No douching to get rid of your husbands “waste products” contaminating your vagina? How disgusting.

And no I don’t believe you can control that either.

Using a towel isn’t stopping it coming out, it’s soaking it up after it has.

Your pelvic floor doesn’t close your cervix or the opening of your vagina, so can’t stop the flow.

Equally, crossing your legs has no effect on your cervix, and while it may capture drips between your thighs, it also won’t seal the vaginal opening and blood will still escape.

It’s impossible to lie on the bed with your legs up while getting out of the shower and moving around the bathroom, so that also won’t stop the flow while you are showering and getting decent afterwards.

Neither the cervix or the vagina are sphincters, or some sort of valve that can direct the flow of liquid.

No. Perhaps you should tell your doctor about some of your beliefs.

Ilovecleaning · 26/01/2024 22:30

What a bloody weird question for a grown woman to be asking.

TrixieFatell · 26/01/2024 23:24

I put my vagina and cervix in the dishwasher every day. Can't believe how manky some of you are

Diamondcurtains · 26/01/2024 23:36

Menora · 26/01/2024 16:19

A wet finger
even better… a flannel

Ha ha yeh I, not sticking a flannel up my fanny thanks. There is just no need. Wash the outside yes!

PointerParty · 26/01/2024 23:37

I stop the flow of blood and/or semen with my ziplock labia minora.

HTH

I just throw mine out and get new ones each day, you really can’t be too careful with fanny filth.

SomeCatFromJapan · 27/01/2024 00:05

I get the men who jetwash my driveway to do my vagina at the same time.

I haven't commented on those who do it differently - I've commented on those who don't do it at all!

I was replying to someone who asked another PP, 'do you wash every orifice?'. I replied saying I did, and in what way. I was answering a question.

What those who have a more 'relaxed' attitude to hygiene think about my cleanliness, however, is neither here or there.

But all this faux astonishment and 'I can't believe I'm having to explain this' in some of your other posts can be read as implying judgement. That's how it reads to me, anyway.

marshmallowburn · 27/01/2024 02:34

Poor old @Jumpingthruhoops is lying in their manky bath filled with poo particles and snot after sticking a flannel up their nose and butt, declaring us all unhygienic!

MoonWoman69 · 27/01/2024 10:28

SomeCatFromJapan · 26/01/2024 16:17

I like to give my urethra a good clean with an interdental brush. Anyone who doesn't is definitely too relaxed about their hygiene standards.

🤣🤣🤣 That's made my day!!! Off to sort that out now, I don't want to be found lacking in the pee pipe cleanliness department!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I don't think a lot of people are as bothered with how she attacks her wanny as they are her other bizarre unscientific comments.

darkmodeera · 27/01/2024 12:50

it doesn't matter how good your pelvic floor muscles are, once you've got a right proper bleed on it'll just gush out when the vagina is completely full anyway. This thread has gone really fucking weird,😂
